The RBS group in an integral part of the Amazon online product lifecycle and buying operations. The team's goal is to ensure Amazon remains competitive in the online retail space with the best price, wide selection and good product information.
Within RBS, the World Wide Defect Elimination team strives to reduce the problems identified with the products. The team’s primary role is to identify root cause, eliminate the defect and implement solutions to fix the issue permanently, thereby improving customer experience. The tasks handled by this group have a direct impact on customer buying decisions and online user experience. Our team is looking for a Program Manager to help enable Cost To serve for Amazon by implementing Key business initiatives. The primary objective is to reduce Cost To Serve for Amazon and enable “Free Cash Flow” by optimizing the Cost per shipped unit economics across the supply chain systems.

Key job responsibilities
Forming and managing cross-functional project teams to drive key programs for our customers.
Adoption of technology solutions, and process improvement projects to achieve Business goals
Managing stakeholder communication across multiple lines of Business on various project milestones, process changes, escalations, etc.,
Partnering with WW supply chain stakeholders to drive down the inefficiencies in process.
Key job responsibilities
• Program Development and Execution: Support the development and execution of Cost to Serve (CTS) and Upstream Defect Elimination (UDE) initiatives, focusing on reducing shrinkage, eliminating systemic defects and improving process efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define goals and drive continuous improvement.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with business leaders, supply chain teams, finance, quality and operations teams to implement CTS initiatives effectively. Facilitate workshops, meetings and regular updates to ensure alignment and transparency across stakeholders.
• Data-Driven Problem Solving: Dive deep into operational data to uncover inefficiencies and identify root causes. Track and report progress on key performance indicators related to shrinkage, defect elimination rates and process optimization.
• Process Improvement: Leverage methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma to address systemic defects and optimize workflows. Identify opportunities to simplify processes, scale solutions and enhance efficiency.
• Project Management: Manage timelines, resources and stakeholder communication to ensure timely execution of initiatives. Adapt project plans to address emerging challenges and seize opportunities in CTS reduction and defect elimination efforts.
• Regional Expansion: Support the extension of CTS initiatives to new regions and fulfillment models. Tailor solutions to regional needs while maintaining alignment with global strategic objectives.
• Defect Prevention and Reduction: Apply UDE principles to proactively identify and address systemic defects, focusing on early intervention to prevent inefficiencies and ensure sustainable improvements across the supply chain.
A day in the life
As a Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in executing initiatives to reduce CTS and support UDE efforts. Your work will involve:
• Analyzing and Interpreting Data: You’ll evaluate data to identify inefficiencies, trends and root causes of systemic defects. Your insights will guide actionable solutions to optimize processes and improve supply chain performance.
• Engaging with Stakeholders: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive alignment on goals and resolve challenges. You’ll coordinate with stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met and roadblocks are addressed effectively.
• Facilitating Workshops and Discussions: Organize and lead collaborative sessions to refine processes, brainstorm solutions and share updates. These sessions will help ensure smooth implementation of initiatives across functions and regions.
• Monitoring Initiative Progress: Track ongoing projects, measure performance against key metrics and adapt strategies to address emerging challenges or opportunities. You’ll ensure that initiatives align with broader CTS objectives.
• Supporting Regional and Operational Growth: Assist in scaling defect elimination and cost-reduction strategies to new regions and fulfillment models, working to tailor solutions that account for market-specific complexities.
About the team
Cost to Serve (CTS) aims to identify and eliminate waste, negative experiences, and non-value activities across the end-to-end remit of supply chain and dependent workstreams that slow down resolution for our stakeholders. The primary objective is to reduce Cost To Serve for Amazon and enable “Free Cash Flow” by optimizing the Cost per shipped unit economics across the supply chain systems. Our program will support in establishing the end-to-end supply chain checkpoints on how the inventory moves inside Amazon to identify gaps, broken processes/policies to eliminate root causes of systemic difficulties rather than merely addressing symptoms, on behalf of our customers. This team will partner with internal/external stakeholders to establish the FCF/Cost to serve charter based on opportunity size and own specific unique initiatives that are beyond the existing team’s program scope.
- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
- Analytical skills, with experience interpreting data to drive actionable insights and process improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams to achieve project goals.
- Exceptional communication and writing skills, with the ability to present complex information to stakeholders at various organizational levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Master’s degree or MBA in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent certifications.
- Experience working in a global environment, managing initiatives across multiple regions and fulfillment models.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Tableau, or similar platforms to extract and analyze large datasets.
- Demonstrated ability to drive results in ambiguous and fast-changing environments.
- Proven success in scaling operational programs and processes while considering regional nuances and business complexities.
- Stakeholder management skills with experience influencing cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
