Job Description

As part of the AWS Solutions organization, we have a vision to provide business applications, leveraging Amazon’s unique experience and expertise, that are used by millions of companies worldwide to manage day-to-day operations. We will accomplish this by accelerating our customers’ businesses through delivery of intuitive and differentiated technology solutions that solve enduring business challenges. We blend vision with curiosity and Amazon’s real-world experience to build opinionated, turnkey solutions. Where customers prefer to buy over build, we become their trusted partner with solutions that are no-brainers to buy and easy to use.
We’re building an entirely new retail experience with no lines and no checkout. Our checkout-free shopping experience is made possible by our Just Walk Out Technology, which automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. When a customer is done shopping, they just walk out! Shortly after, their credit card is charged for their purchases and a receipt is sent.
The ideal candidate will have excellent program management, problem solving and communication skills and be able to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels. The candidate will be at ease dealing with ambiguity, have strong attention to detail, be motivated by a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, and be comfortable thinking big and diving deep. Driving standardization of process and the creation of documentation is a major component of the role. The ability to utilize judgement and domain knowledge to anticipate issues before they block launch, as well as the ability to influence and drive change through a matrix organization without direct authority, is critical to achieve business objectives.
Key job responsibilities
• Own and execute against project plans and delivery commitments. Report on status, milestones and goals to stakeholders.
• Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the ability to launch a store on time
• Provides input to short-term and long-term strategic planning with business goals in mind
• Build and work to timelines to ensure on-time completion and deliver desired business results
• Assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, balance the business needs versus technical constraints and encourage risk-taking behavior to maximize business benefit
• Communicates status risks, and changes of program milestones to a large user population and senior business leaders
