Amazon is searching for an Engineering Program Manager who is able to collaborate effectively with internal and external technical teams and will be responsible for key aspects of Customer Fulfillment Engineering Services team supporting multiple business. The role focuses on managing and directing change request progress through Amazon’s Change Management process and driving high impact engineering initiatives to meet the annual plan.
Key job responsibilities
The Engineering Program Manager will focus on the design, engineering & deployment life cycle of new technologies such as Automation System & Robotics, Packaging, Mobility, Pick & Place and Sortation. They gather business requirements, document functional and design specifications, identify appropriate resources needed, assemble the right project team, assign individual responsibilities, and develop the milestones and launch schedule to ensure timely and successful delivery of the project. Program Manager has cross-functional business and technical skills, assess and manage risks, measure and report on progress, anticipate and resolve bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs with the technical constraints. They rely heavily on influence over authority to drive project deliverables. The team utilizes program management skills to anticipate constraints and mitigate risks to balance the business needs with technical solutions.
This role will challenge one to solve complex problems in a rapidly evolving, ambiguous environment, and will focus on ensuring the successful deployment and launch of new technologies and processes developed with Amazon’s Worldwide Engineering Team. Additionally, this role will support the India based Design & Engineering team in developing solutions and applications to solve the problems of tomorrow in the Amazon Global Customer Fulfillment Solutions, as well as re-engineering launched technologies and processes for continuous improvements.
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- 4+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
