What this job involves:


Putting safety protocols in place

That’s why we’re on the lookout for an effective country EHS manager who will help the account regional EHS director in implementing and managing the Company’s safety management system across the region. 


As the person in charge, you’ll see to it that both national and local safety standards are religiously followed in all of our clients’ multisite portfolios. Aside from these, you’ll be on top of designing and enforcing risk management strategies; as well as providing reports on the adoption of safety protocols.  


You’ll also be the go-to person for all things related to workplace safety. In this role, you’ll provide valuable insights and technical advice on mitigating risks. You’ll also organise and roll out effective communication plans for the region. Performing routine inspections, reviews and audits is part of your mandate, too.

As the person in charge, you’ll work closely with site teams to ensure that our safety measures and procedures are adhered to. Likewise, you’ll constantly collaborate with our account teams to identify opportunities for improvement, and determine cost-effective ways in implementing our safety standards.


Also part of your scope is to build good working relationship with our clients and contractors. In this role, you’ll work side-by-side with facilities managers in handling key external and internal stakeholders. You’ll also support our procurement team in selecting contractors, and ensuring that these approved experts follow safety standards in place.

A full-fledged authority in workplace safety


The ideal candidate will steer the Company to safety—and see to it that the workplace stays this way. That’s why we’re looking for a certified expert with over three years’ experience in managing EHS systems. We’d also want someone who is well-versed in international safety standards, preferably those who hold Chartered Membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) certification or other national equivalent.


Likewise, the ideal candidate is equipped with good working knowledge of EHS tools and platforms, and the technical skills to overcome issues that may come our way. A relevant experience in handling quality management systems, as well as Lead Auditor Qualifications, are also advantageous.

What we’re looking for is a country EHS manager who can effectively take on the pressures of the work, all while providing high-quality deliverables in the process. As the person in charge, you must have superior verbal and written communications skills to cover a wide range to client-engagement tasks such as meetings, presentations and reports. These skills will also prove useful when working with multicultural teams.


Likewise, we want someone who can constantly deliver innovative solutions based on the clients’ business needs. A team player at heart, the ideal candidate must also strike a perfect balance between our clients’ demands and deadlines. Your expertise in drafting account policies and training materials will also be a big plus.


Key Responsibilities:


Develop and implement HSSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements. Conduct regular audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and operations to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues. Coordinate and lead incident investigation and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence and promote continuous improvement. Develop and deliver effective HSSE training programs to educate employees and contractors on safety procedures, emergency response, and environmental practices. Provide guidance and support to operational teams on HSSE matters and recommend corrective action plans as necessary. Develop emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, crisis management protocols, and business continuity plans. Review and analyze data and reports related to incidents, near misses, and other HSSE metrics, and provide insights for management decision-making. Liaise with regulatory agencies, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with HSSE standards. Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in HSSE, and recommend improvements to existing programs. Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management strategies to minimize potential hazards and ensure compliance throughout the organization. Manage and maintain HSSE documentation, including policies, procedures, permits, licenses, and records. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HSSE programs and initiatives, and adjust strategies as needed. Promote a positive safety culture and encourage employee participation in HSSE initiatives through effective communication and engagement activities. Collaborate with other departments, including facilities management, operations, legal, and human resources, to ensure a holistic approach to HSSE management. Prepare and present regular reports on HSSE performance, trends, and key metrics to senior management.


The HSSE Lead plays a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, security, and environmental well-being of the organization and its employees. This position requires a strong commitment to compliance, continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of safety throughout the organization.


Required qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, COSHH, IOSH, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HSSE management, preferably within the commercial real estate or facilities management industry.
  • Strong knowledge of local and international HSSE regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence teams, driving a positive safety culture and achieving measurable results.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office applications and HSSE software.

Preferred qualifications:


  • Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other relevant management systems.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing risk management strategies.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices and strategies in the built environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal and professional development.
