Job Description


Primary functions and essential responsibilities

Patch Deployment and Testing


  • Coordinate the deployment of patches, updates, and security fixes across all systems, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Establish a standardized testing process to verify the compatibility and stability of patches before deployment to production environments.
  • Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and security teams to schedule and implement patching activities with minimal impact on business operations.
  • Troubleshoot issues with the patching process, including installation failures.
  • Perform regular maintenance of systems, including patch approval and maintenance of third-party patch catalogues.
  • Stay informed about new features to provide support and training to staff and clients.
  • Assist other team members with tasks outside of patching as time permits.

Vulnerability Assessment and Risk Analysis


  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments to identify potential security risks and prioritize patching based on criticality and impact.
  • Collaborate with the security team to evaluate the risk associated with unpatched vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.

Compliance and Reporting


  • Stay updated with industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to patch management.
  • Generate reports and metrics on patch compliance, vulnerability remediation progress, and system performance to provide insights to management and stakeholders.

Qualification and Experience:


  • Graduate or equivalent
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience

Preferred Skills:


  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft SCCM and experience with Tenable i.o or similar vulnerability scanning tools.
  • Thorough understanding of Active Directory, including replication and Group Policy Objects (GPO).
  • Engage with tuning of alerts to help improve their fidelity.
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems patching and third-party tools such as Google Chrome, Adobe, and M365 Updates.
  • Advanced knowledge of registry, permissions, and drivers and software required.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting.
  • Familiarity with Linux is advantageous
