Huntsman Solutions India Pte Ltd is now looking for a dynamic individual as an Product Safety & Stewardship Specialist. Huntsman has a rare opportunity for an experienced Product Safety & Stewardship Specialist EAME to join our regional team with a base location in Mumbai, India.


Reporting to the EAME Product Safety & Stewardship Manager, the purpose of this role is to be the steward of our products throughout the different stages of the product lifecycle from introduction till the use at our customers and act as a first point of contact.


As a Product Safety & Stewardship Specialist you will: 


Assess and approve as part of a cross functional team the product introduction requests (for new products and changes including purchased raw materials).


Classify Huntsman materials by following national GHS regulation and national / international transportation regulation (i.e., IATA, IMDG) and provide consultation and interpretation on GHS classification, SDS and label content to the business.


Release Safety Data Sheet and label within the lead time agreed by business stakeholder while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all data contained in these documents.


Perform and communicate impact assessments with business holders when there are any changes on the product, including compositions changes, hazardous classification changes etc...


Managing customer requests; Issue Product compliance letters / certificates / Regulatory Data Sheets (RDS) in response to enquiries for a specific product group received from EAME customers, liaising with business stakeholder ensuring fast and efficient query resolution.


Perform the registration of Huntsman products for country specific product registers.


Monitor the assigned regulations and analyze the impact of the changes introduced by the authority. Provide early alert to business stakeholders based on the impact analysis.


Support the EAME Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance team for collection, compilation of data for KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators), monthly reporting,  and review of procedures.


Represent Huntsman in industry and trade associations as required.


What skills and experiences are we looking for?


Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, or an equivalent relevant degree in Technical, Science or Engineering.


At least 5 years of experience in a product stewardship and regulatory affairs role in the chemical industry is required, with an awareness and understanding of chemical processes and products.


Sound understanding of chemistry


Fluency in English and business writing are essential, additional European languages (German, French,..) will be a plus.


Excellent working knowledge of SDS authoring software (SAP-EHS) & IT skills (i.e.EXCEL, impact assessment tools).


Interest in data management and reporting with knowledge in digital technologies (Microsoft Power BI, power query…)


A good knowledge and understanding of GHS and International Dangerous


Goods regulations and chemical control legislations (for example, REACH).


IATA or IMDG certification will be a plus.


Able to influence people and adapt to changes


Excellent communication and organisational skills.


Able to use initiative.


Have a proactive approach to working, with the ability to identify issues and address quickly.
