Job Description:
Huntsman Corporation is now looking for a dynamic individual as a Product Safety Stewardship (PSS) Manager – Americas/India. This role is responsible to manage a team of PSS experts supporting businesses in the Americas and India by providing hazardous product GHS (Globally Harmonized System) classification, DG (Dangerous Goods) transport classification, SDS, labeling, new introduction & extension of product (& raw material) compliance review, and customer inquiries handling. This role also includes administrative oversight of PSRC employees at the Navi Mumbai office, ensuring smooth operations and serving as the manager for PSRC-related administrative matters. The job holder is responsible for fostering a cohesive team culture by following the company code of conduct and enabling the effective and compliant marketing and use of Huntsman products.
The ideal candidate will be located in Mumbai, India.
As a Product Safety Stewardship (PSS) Manager – Americas/India you will:
Product Safety & Stewardship
Lead, manage, and provide strategic direction to the Americas/India Product Safety & Stewardship team, supporting regional business needs.
Ensure the availability, integrity, and accuracy of data for the compliant compilation and release of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and labels.
Support Americas, India R&D/Innovation/R&T and other business teams in new product development by reviewing compliance status, providing GHS classification and compliant SDS and labeling to enable safe market entry for new products.
Collaborate with the Systems Data Management Team to input, review, and optimize data for SDS and label compilation.
Manage resources for the Americas/India product safety stewardship team and oversee training and development for direct reports.
Supervise and enhance regional/global SDS and labeling authoring processes in active collaboration with the Regional EAME and APAC Product Safety Stewardship Managers.
Work together with PSRC Regulatory and Registration team, Product Regulatory Team and Toxicology Team to ensure compliance of national chemical inventory regulations, hazardous product registrations and product use application regulations.
Address business queries and customer inquiries related to GHS regulations, SDS and labeling, DG classification, product compliance status, and regulatory trends.
Administrative Oversight
Serve as the manager for PSRC administrative matters within the Navi Mumbai office, interacting with HR, sales, and other local functions.
Oversee administrative responsibilities for the PSRC group, including office attendance, work from home policy, seating arrangements, office-related coordination, and addressing local issues affecting the team.
Act as a liaison between the PSRC group and other functions to ensure alignment and collaboration.
Promote a culture in line with company code of conduct across the PSRC team within Navi Mumbai, fostering teamwork and consistency.
Regulatory Strategy and Compliance
Identify forthcoming regulatory challenges and proactively advise solutions to ensure market access for Huntsman products.
Establish processes and procedures to ensure compliance with product safety and stewardship regulations while driving continuous process optimization.
Analyze regulatory trends to develop long-term strategies and solutions for businesses in the Americas and India.
Other General Responsibilities
Follow instructions and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Assist employees in achieving Huntsman company goals.
Participate in and complete company-required training programs.
Engage in Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives set forth by the company.
What skills and experiences are we looking for?
Master's degree in Science (Chemistry, Biology, or related field).
8+ years of product safety, stewardship and regulatory experience, including hands-on SDS and labeling authoring experience in the Americas or India regions.
Proven experience managing remote and matrixed teams; experience in Indian/Americas regulatory frameworks is required.
Familiarity with SAP EHS SDS and labeling authoring process is preferred.
Expertise in GHS classification, dangerous goods transportation classification, and regional regulations in the Americas and India; knowledge of global GHS regulations is advantageous.
Proficiency in managing cross-cultural teams and working across multiple time zones.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address business cases and identify solutions.
Ability to influence business decisions to ensure market access and compliance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, and SharePoint; internet and email proficiency required.
Exceptional leadership, coaching, and administrative management skills.
