Job Description

Global Service center (GSC) is hiring a Product Owner (PO), who will be responsible for leading SAFe systems team that assists in building and supporting the Agile development environment.


The team consists of Systems Administrator, Configuration Administrator (DevSecOps Engineer), Database Administrator and Release Engineer, Scrum Master and You Product Owner.


The PO has a strong understanding of technical domain and fundamental understanding of the business which the team is responsible.  As such, the PO must be able to give direction to systems team members so that they understand how each of their individual contributions align with the program objectives and overall company strategies and vision.


Most importantly, the PO will serve as the customer proxy to guide their team’s priorities to meet team dependencies and the long-term product vision.


Roles and Responsibilities


  • Serve in a decision-making, leadership role on a Systems team as Product Owner.
  • Be a highly visible, fully embedded team member who attends all team-level check-ins, meetings and other events (being a PO will be your full-time job).
  • Build, refine, and prioritize team backlog in alignment with the program vision and roadmap.
  • Draft specific team objectives for each iteration and Program Increment (PI) that are aligned and contribute to program objectives and overall company strategy.
  • Break NFR, Technical features, Agile team dependencies down into stories, define story acceptance criteria and accept stories as done.
  • Collaborate with other System Architects, Product Managers, Project Managers, Product Owners, System Analyst and other stakeholders to resolve dependencies and coordinate efforts as required to deliver on team objectives.
  • Communicate systems vision, roadmap and priorities to stakeholders.
  • Represent the team at program-level meetings and pass relevant information back to the team.
  • Participate in team demos, reviews and retrospectives with an eye toward continuous improvement.
  • Groom Team Backlog and provide functional and technical clarification for story development.
  • Prepare for Program activities, including PI Planning, System Demos, and Inspect and Adapt.
  • Responsible for Auditing and report the own infrastructures.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in Systems product owner / Experienced in IT system administrator (data center).
  • Experience and proficiency with software development lifecycle and software development methodologies including SAFe, Lean, Scrum and Agile.
  • Deep Technical knowledge on IT Infrastructure and it’s components (On-premises, DMZ and Cloud)
  • Experience and deep understanding of DevSecOps practices.
  • Advanced knowledge on Networking, various operating systems, Database systems, webservers, load balancers, Storage, backup and Monitoring Platforms.
  • Understanding of various Migration strategies of Server, OS, Databases and Applications.
  • Experience in Incident and Change Management.
  • Advanced knowledge on Vulnerability Management, Prioritization and Risk mitigation strategy.
  • Alignment with Expeditors’ culture and a total commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Driven, strong, 'get it done' attitude.  Lives the belief that done is better than perfect.
  • Broad cross-product and geography knowledge of Expeditors’ network
  • Experience with software development and Logistics domain is preferred.
  • Certification or ability to become certified in Leading SAFe and SAFe PM/PO.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with a wide spectrum of people including senior leaders, customers and people across geographies.
  • Effective at navigating ambiguity and helping diverse teams drive towards clarity and consensus.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to recognize and mitigate risks.
  • Highly literate in current industry issues, topics and market drivers that affect our software.
  • A curiosity about software engineering tools and practices that facilitates better decision-making and better relationships with team members.
  • A strong interest and desire for knowledge about the commercial and operational aspects of Expeditors’ network and the broader transportation industry.
