Job Summary
As a Product Owner - Data Projects Manager, you will play a critical role in managing and driving data product initiatives while ensuring seamless collaboration between ADGO (Accenture Data Governance Organization) and CIO/Asset Engineering teams. You will define and refine product backlogs, coordinate technical roadmaps, facilitate data access, and resolve integration hurdles. The role demands a unique combination of product ownership, program management, stakeholder engagement, and technical expertise, ensuring that data infrastructure and products are built for scalability, reusability, and business impact.
Roles & Responsibilities
Product Backlog & Technical Roadmap Ownership
- Define, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog for data initiatives, ensuring strategic alignment.
- Work closely with CIO/Asset Engineering teams to align technical roadmaps with business priorities.
- Ensure backlog items emphasize reusability, scalability, and long-term value across multiple ADGO towers.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Serve as the central contact for ADGO, coordinating with CIO/Asset Engineering teams on infrastructure and data initiatives.
- Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity in requirements and deliverables.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on project milestones, risks, and dependencies.
- Facilitate workshops, demos, and training sessions to drive user adoption and understanding of delivered solutions.
Infrastructure & Data Access Management
- Work with IT teams to provision and maintain on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure needed for data ingestion, processing, and analytics.
- Secure timely access to internal data sources, resolving policy and compliance concerns proactively.
- Address integration and data accessibility challenges to maintain seamless operations.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Execution
- Lead cross-functional teams—including developers, data architects, and business stakeholders—to deliver high-impact data products.
- Collaborate with data governance, usage rights, and monetization teams to integrate compliance and business requirements into product roadmaps.
- Manage project escalations, dependencies, and alignment with enterprise-wide initiatives.
Continuous Improvement & Performance Monitoring
- Track product and project performance against key metrics, gathering feedback from users and stakeholders.
- Implement changes based on data-driven insights, ensuring alignment with evolving business needs.
- Identify process bottlenecks and champion agile best practices for continuous improvement.
Professional & Technical Skills
Product & Data Product Management
- Strong understanding of data product development life cycle, including conceptualization, design, testing, and launch.
- Ability to integrate data governance, usage rights, and monetization aspects into product roadmaps.
- Skilled at translating technical requirements into clear, actionable product strategies.
Cloud & Data Architecture Knowledge
- Solid understanding of on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure, including networking, storage, and security considerations.
- Familiarity with data operations, pipelines, and governance frameworks within enterprise environments.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, capable of managing complex, multi-layered stakeholder engagements.
- Ability to communicate technical capabilities in business-focused value propositions for senior leadership.
Strategic Thinking & Project Execution
- Experience managing cross-functional roadmaps, balancing competing priorities to ensure timely, high-quality project deliveries.
- Proven track record in resolving integration and accessibility challenges while maintaining business alignment.
- Exposure to enterprise architecture principles to coordinate infrastructure and data activities holistically.
Preferred Project Management & Agile Experience
- Experience in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project management methodologies to plan, execute, and track deliverables effectively.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments where requirements may shift frequently.
