What role will you play as a member of the Colgate’s Information Technology team?

The Product Owner in the Data Excellence space will be responsible for driving the vision, roadmap, and execution of our comprehensive data management initiatives. You will act as the link between business needs, technical capabilities, and compliance requirements. Ensure our data is discoverable, accessible, credible, and compliant. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing the value and security of our data assets while upholding the highest standards of data privacy and quality.


Who are you… You are a function expert -
  • Develop product vision for data catalog, data privacy, and data quality solutions, aligning with the organization's overall data strategy and business objectives.


  • Define and maintain a clear product roadmap, outlining key features, landmarks, release plans, and measurable success criteria.


  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and prioritize product requirements.


  • Foster strong partnerships with multi-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, data analysts, legal, compliance, and business users


  • Work closely with the vendors to ensure requirements are clearly understood, implemented, and our quality standards.


  • Maintain open and clear communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on product development progress, highlighting achievements, and addressing any concerns proactively.


  • Define and implement robust data catalog metadata standards and governance processes, incorporating privacy classifications and data quality metrics.


  • Drive the adoption of the data catalog across the organization, ensuring data is easily discoverable, searchable, and understandable while respecting privacy controls and maintaining data accuracy..


  • Collaborate with data stewards and data owners to resolve data quality issues efficiently.


  • Develop and implement comprehensive user training and adoption programs, emphasizing privacy standard methodologies and data quality awareness.


  • Champion a user-centric approach to product development and have an attitude to deliver a seamless and intuitive user experience.

  • Your proficiency in handling data governance and data management applications and driving enterprise data maturity,


  • You will connect the dots by aligning data management Initiatives with overall organizational framework


You are a collaborator -
  • Your expertise and insights as a Data Engineer shall be instrumental in driving the success of our data applications


You are an innovator -
  • You will spearhead dynamic initiatives that push the boundaries of what's possible with data governance and data management.


What you’ll need…(Required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration or related field. Master’s degree or equivalent experience in information management or Library and Information Science is preferred


  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, with a proven track record in data management, data governance, or a related domain.


  • Extensive knowledge of data management (Data Catalog, Data Quality) and data governance principles, implementations and latest industry trends.


  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.


  • Passion for data and its potential to drive business value


  • Demonstrable ability to handle multiple business customers, including actively engaging and aligning with enterprise senior leadership to drive data governance initiatives and strategies in line with the overall interpersonal goals.


  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to empower and guide multi-functional teams effectively.


  • Outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a keen eye for detail and a dedication to delivering high-quality products.


What you’ll need…(Preferred):
  • Consulting or product management experiences


  • Experience in the FMCG or a related industry is a plus.


  • Proficiency in metadata and data quality tools like Atlan, Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Atacama, Talend, etc.


  • Experience in data privacy (e.g., CIPP, CIPM) will have an advantage.
