Position Summary


The Product Interoperability Validation Engineer position at Thales involves a multifaceted role within the Client Services team, focusing on ensuring the seamless integration and interoperability of Thales


products with third-party software and systems. Here's a breakdown of key responsibilities and


expectations:


Key Responsibilities:


Escalation Support:


  • Provide advanced technical support for specific products in collaboration with the Client Services Tech Support team.
  • Assist in resolving complex customer deployment issues, analyze root causes, and recommend effective remediation procedures or best practices.

Interoperability Validation:


  • Validate and test Thales products' compatibility with third-party vendor software, solutions, and various system configurations (hardware and software).

Lab Setup and Configuration:


  • Set up and manage hardware/software environments across diverse configurations, including:
  • Various operating systems (OS platforms)
  • Storage products, databases, and file systems
  • Security protection software, High Availability (HA) clustering software, etc.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:


  • Document test methods, processes, and results for future reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to creating knowledge bases that improve internal support efficiency and customer
  • troubleshooting.

Collaboration for Process Improvement:


  • Work closely with the Technical Support, QA, and Developer teams to refine and improve processes, methodologies, and tools used in product validation and support.
  • Contribute to continuous product and process improvement efforts aimed at enhancing product quality and customer satisfaction.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background, hands-on experience in product validation, and an eagerness to work in a collaborative and customer-focused environment.


Key Qualifications:


  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
  • System administration or system-level testing across Linux, UNIX, and Windows
  • Strong knowledge of hardware, software applications, networking, and security within IT infrastructure

Core Technical Skills:


  • Operating Systems (OS): Configuration and administration experience in Windows, Linux, UNIX,
  • Networking: In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking, client-server architectures, and high-
  • availability systems
  • Security:
    • Encryption,
    • Key Management
    • Access Control

Data & Storage:


  • File Systems & Storage: Expertise in storage technologies (e.g., NAS, SAN, etc.)
  • Databases: Experience with both SQL (e.g., Oracle, DB2, Sybase) and NoSQL databases (e.g.,
  • MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Hadoop)
  • High Availability & Fault Tolerance: Knowledge of HA architectures and clustering solutions
  • (e.g., MS Cluster, Veritas, HACMP, Oracle ASM.

Programming & Scripting:


  • Proficiency in C, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, and shell scripting

Big Data & Cloud Technologies:


  • Big Data Platforms: Experience with Hadoop ecosystems (e.g., Hortonworks, Cloudera, MapR)
  • Cluster Technologies: Familiarity with clustering technologies (e.g., MS Cluster, Veritas)
  • Cloud Platforms: Good working knowledge of AWS, Azure, and VMware
  • Virtualization: Familiarity with Docker, virtualization technologies, and containerized
  • environments

Tools & Automation:


  • Experience with remote configuration management tools like Chef or Puppet is desirable
  • Familiarity with performance and security testing is a plus

Soft Skills:


  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, team members, and management

Educational Requirements:


  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent
