Job Title: Procurement Lead - Services & Goods
Location: Mumbai
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Lead to join our Supply Chain Management (SCM) team in India. This role involves controlling, measuring, and optimizing procurement activities, driving cost efficiency and ensuring an excellent supplier base through strategic pooling and procurement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement & Category Management
- Develop and implement category-specific procurement strategies aligned with business goals, cost-saving initiatives, and sustainability.
- Conduct market analysis, supplier assessments, and competitive benchmarking to optimize procurement efficiency and ensure best-in-class sourcing.
- Oversee procurement for HR services, learning & development, consulting, and market research, ensuring cost-effectiveness and business alignment.
- Oversee procurement of wooden, metal, and corrugated packaging materials, ensuring compliance with industry standards and supply chain efficiency.
- Manage sourcing and contracts for workplace safety, medical services, office supplies, waste management and ensuring compliance and efficiency.
- Source industrial and manufacturing supplies, including welding materials, workshop equipment, packaging auxiliaries, and technical tools, ensuring quality and cost optimization.
- Handle contracts for temporary labor and industrial workforce solutions, ensuring skilled labor availability, regulatory compliance, and cost efficiency.
Platform-Based Procurement, Digitalization, and Process Automation
- Implement platform-based procurement solutions to enhance supplier collaboration, ensure compliance, and drive cost efficiency across sourcing activities.
- Automate procurement workflows, contract approvals, and payment processes, reducing cycle times and improving operational accuracy.
Supplier & Sourcing Strategy
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers while ensuring alignment with business requirements and procurement strategies.
- Conduct supplier audits and manage relationships to assess capabilities, compliance, and long-term performance excellence.
- Utilize eProcurement tools (eRfX, eAuction, eBidding, SAP) and execute competitive sourcing strategies for cost efficiency.
- Lead contract negotiations and manage frame contracts, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and supplier data accuracy.
Optimization, Compliance & Performance Management
- Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance supply chain resilience.
- Implement data-driven procurement strategies while mitigating risks and ensuring business continuity.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate policies while aligning sourcing strategies with business needs.
- Collaborate with internal teams, Global Commodity Managers, and peer countries to drive synergies and standardization.
- Measure procurement performance against KPIs, provide reports, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or master’s in business administration
- Experience: 8-12 years in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong business communication (written & verbal) and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in procurement tools and software (SAP, eProcurement platforms, contract management tools).
