About the position:
The Process Design Engineer is responsible for providing process design support to Chevron’s refining and liquified natural gas (LNG) assets. This role will be responsible for providing process engineering design data for projects, engineering work package development and other engineering related activities. Process design engineers will support cross functional teams engaging with Operations, Maintenance and other engineering functions. This role is a part of the Process Engineering team at the Chevron ENGINE Center.
Key responsibilities:
Review and improve designs for operability, reliability, and ease of maintenance
Support day-to-day operations by providing engineering support including minor design changes, minor project scopes, long term maintenance support and technical input into long term process or reliability related issues
Perform Management of Change (MOC) work for design packages and associated changes
Manage multi-area projects and process system initiatives simultaneously
Develop and maintain detailed process simulation models to evaluate design and operating scenarios
Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs)
Support process engineering turnaround scope development packages for Chevron assets
Required Qualifications:
3-5 years of process design engineering experience in multiple petroleum refinery process technologies
Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B. Tech) in chemical engineering or related field from a recognized (AICTE) university
5-10 years of relevant experience providing technical process design engineering support in a complex oil and gas operating environment is preferred
Knowledge of refinery and LNG process technologies will be highly regarded
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1:30pm to 10:30pm.
