What you’ll do:


We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commvault Expert to join our Private Cloud  team who will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and security of our organization's data backup and recovery processes. The ideal candidate should possess advanced expertise in Commvault, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage customer requests effectively. This role involves handling backup operations for various databases, including MS SQL, MySQL, and HANA, as well as managing backup-to-cloud strategies.


The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of our private cloud infrastructure, ensuring maximum uptime, performance, and security.


Key Responsibilities:


• Provide support for private cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, predominantly for backup and recovery of Virtual machines and Database.


• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to private cloud infrastructure predominantly related to backup and recovery technology, including performance and security-related issues


• Assist in the creation and implementation of backup and disaster recovery plans


• Good Document writing skills and SOP preparation.


• Good Skills in Handling Incidents, Changes and Problem Management


• To independently resolve tickets and ensure that the agreed SLA of ticket volume and time are met for the team.


• Participate in planning and implementation of Change in the infra and ensure flawless execution


• Perform routine maintenance and updates to the infrastructure


• Automate routine tasks and processes using scripting and automation tools


• To prepare business requirement documents for automation/enhancement of the Backup environment, lead pilot and testing efforts of a process rollout including preparation of training material and ensure that customer queries on a new process are responded to.


• To provide support for on call escalations or L3 level support and doing incident and problem management


• Work on value adding activities such Knowledge base update and management, training freshers, coaching analysts, and conducting interviews or participation in hiring drives.


• To adhere to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies


• Flexibility to work in 24\7 shifts


• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as needed.


• Provide customer service and technical support to internal and external clients


Technical Skills:


1.           Backup and Recovery:


  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge and hands-on experience in deploying, configuring, and managing Commvault backup and recovery solutions. Stay updated on the latest features and enhancements in Commvault to optimize the backup infrastructure continually.
  • Experienced in Windows and Unix/Linux server backup and restores including routine patching in a Commvault environment.
  • Knowledge in handling database backup and restores from/to VMs, such as MS SQL, MySql, Hana, DB2, Oracle
  • Knowledge in TCP/IP and SAN, NAS technologies.
  • Knowledgeable in Commvault auditing, command line operations, logging, and reporting.
  • Perform all chargeback estimation, provisioning, and documentation tasks in a timely manner. Produce regular reports for management, to assist in cost recovery, capacity planning and consolidation.
  • Ensure adherence to the published compliance framework. Monitor by conducting periodic audits to ensure all compliance aspects are adhered to; Analyse and publish reports on the findings; discuss with the concerned stake holders and follow up on the closure.
  •   Virtualization technologies: Should have a fair understanding of VMware virtualization technology and knowledge to efficiently manage virtual machines, virtual switches, and virtual networks. Know-how to restore virtual machines from Datastore snapshots and Commvault backups.
  • Operating systems: Should be familiar with various operating systems like Windows, Linux, and Unix. They should have knowledge of system administration tasks, such as installing, configuring, and troubleshooting software.
  • Security: They should have knowledge of security concepts like access control, authentication, and encryption. They should be familiar with security tools like firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
  •   Understanding of database: MS-SQL, PostgreSQL is an added advantage

Certifications: ITIL, VCP, Commvault Professional or Advanced Certifications, Any foundation Cloud certification
