Job Summary
HP is hiring a Privacy Advisor/Program Manager that will focus on applying Privacy by Design principles at the earliest stages in development for strategic business and software platform initiatives to ensure that data actions meet established regulatory compliance needs. This role will assist in enabling new uses of data through programs, privacy reviews, risk management and other initiatives. It also includes responsibility for implementing requirements and processes to ensure HP’s high ethical standards are met throughout the data use lifecycle.
Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business privacy related issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing data privacy direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.
Responsibilities
- Participates as a member of team of other data privacy professionals ensuring privacy compliance, privacy investigation, privacy by design, and implementation of data privacy requirements to generate new insights, products, and technologies.
- Creates plans to ensure privacy compliance and data collection procedures and data usage for assigned projects.
- Collaborates with internal and external partners to ensure HP is compliant with current and upcoming global privacy regulatory laws in accordance with overall plan.
- Collaborates with SMEs to develop procedures for collecting, recording, analyzing, and communicating data for review and feedback.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop data-driven solutions.
- Prepares literature and presentations for peer review, publication, and delivery at industry and data privacy events and conferences.
- Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.
- Solves difficult and complex problems with a fresh perspective, demonstrating good judgment in selecting creative solutions and managing projects independently.
- Leads moderate to high complexity projects, delivering professionally written reports, and supports the realization of operational and strategic plans.

Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Law degree (J.D.) or related data privacy education and experience
- Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in data privacy, data analytics, statistical analysis, and/or related experience.
Preferred Certifications
- Privacy certification such as CIPM, CIPT, CIPP-E, CIPP-US
