Job Description

Title:


Principal Technical Proffessional - PipingOperations and Activities

1.Responsible for the technical quality and timely delivery of all engineering data and documentation within his/her discipline area.


2.Responsible for directing discipline design and drafting personnel in the performance of their assigned functions.


3.Responsible to define, plan, and develop the scope, procedures, budget, personnel requirements, and detailed schedules for the discipline.


4.Responsible to develop and update component discipline engineering manpower forecasts.Review manhour expenditures and their associated budgets.Take corrective actions within the discipline and/or make recommendations for corrective action to the Project Engineer(s) for budget deficiencies.


5.Responsible for preparing Project Variance Notices for project budget control.


6.Responsible to developing reports on discipline progress and monitoring the design and drafting effort.


7.Responsible to coordinate the purchase specification development for equipment and materials.


8.Responsible to review designs to ensure work content meets the requirements set out in the Contract and Statement of Requirements and complies with the applicable regulations and codes.


9.Responsible to practice and reinforce alliance principles and behavior to the engineering disciplines.


10.Responsible to encourage the development of ideas that improve the alliance risk/reward position.


11.Responsible to communicate and reinforce the project principles and key objectives to the engineering disciplines.


12.Responsible for leading design studies of special technical issues and provide recommendations to project management for approval.


13.Provide technical input and support, as required, to the estimating group in the preparation of the project estimate.


14.Responsible to coordinate with the discipline department manager to initiate the Engineering Assurance Audit at certain intervals as defined by the project schedule.


Organization

1.Responsible for the organization of the discipline staff to effectively execute quality and timely design packages to meet the project requirements.


2.Responsible to organize discipline staff to meet the needs of each project area, including onshore, offshore, process, and drilling platforms elements.


3.Responsible to organize discipline staff to develop technical documents to support clear definition of procurement and construction activities in compliance with the Contract, Statement of Requirements, and the project schedule.


It is the responsibility of the Piping Mechanical/Stress Engineer to:


  • Carry out the necessary calculations to ensure that all loading conditions, which may be experienced by a piping system, are considered and catered for, within the design.
  • Ensure that piping systems comply fully with the stress analysis requirements specified
  • Issue approved stress isometrics for critical lines as required.
  • Prepare stress calculations and nozzle loads summaries demonstrating Code compliance and prepare a Stress Analysis Report containing calculations and information for each piping system analyzed (when required by the Client).
  • Confirm that the design of piping, pipe supports, and piping mechanical special piping (SP) items are in accordance with the requirements of the applicable ASME codes, industry standards and all applicable project, client and Company  procedures and specifications.

Knowledge of Caesar II software to perform flexibility analysis


Knowledge of Support selection and support design , spl support Drawing creation


Should be well verse in Fatigue/Blast, FPSO Hog, Sag and structural consideration


 Knowledge of Navis Model / Review Reality is a must


Knowledge of AIV/FIV is preferable


Excellent skill to Guide young engineers to perform the work


Knowledge in Pml macros development will be added advantage
