Principal Storage Engineer

Role Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Storage Engineer with extensive experience in storage technologies specifically in Netapp / Pure and AWS FSxN environments. Ideal candidate will have strong automation skills using Python and Ansible.

Job responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the design, implementation, and management of Netapp on premises as well as cloud storage solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and high performance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of storage administrators.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute filesystem as well as storage strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Architect and implement robust disaster recovery and backup solutions for cloud-based storage environments.
• Develop and enforce security best practices, including access controls, encryption, and compliance with industry standards.
• Monitor and analyze storage usage, performance, and costs, implementing optimizations as needed.
• Troubleshoot complex issues related to cloud/on premises storage and lead resolution efforts in a timely manner.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in cloud storage, providing recommendations for continuous improvement

Job qualification

• Bachelors /master's degree in computer science, information technology or related field.
• Minimum of 15+ years of experience working with storage technologies.
• Extensive experience on storage technologies specially NetApp, advantage if candidate possess AWS cloud as well (Eg: S3, EBS, EFS, FSxN).
• In-depth knowledge of storage file systems mainly NFS, NAS and CIFS.
• NetApp certified System Administrator certification
• Great problem-solving and analytical skillset to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues that may arise and use tools such as Splunk, Grafana, or Prometheus to monitor and analyze the performance and health of the systems.
• Strong experience working with Linux OS and NFS storage in a high performance compute environment.
• Must to have hands on extensive experience with automation tools, like Ansible & Python.
• Proven experience as a DevOps engineer in a senior role who has championed IT infra as code (IaC), configuration management & CICD pipelines
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Have the technical skill to review, verify and validate the software code developed in the project.
