GSK R&D and Digital and Tech’s collective goal is to deliver business impact, including the acceleration of the discovery and development of medicines and vaccines to patients.  GSK Development and Development Digital & Tech are in the final stages of delivering on a multiyear investment aimed at modernizing the clinical development landscape.  In order to ensure we maximize the value of the data we generate using these new systems in combination with the data assets we acquire externally, new teams in both the R&D Development and Development Digital & Tech organizations are being established to focus on the governance and design.


The Data Products Senior Service Analyst is accountable for supporting all the data needs involving the Data Fabric. To effectively enable data and analytics the Service Analyst must demonstrate both depth and breadth of knowledge across the landscape of tools and processes targeting the movement, processing, storage, governance and use of data products on the Development Data Fabric.  This role will work closely with data consumers and product owners to ensure a positive user experience and maximize the value and utility of the products in his/her scope.


Key responsibilities:


  • Partner with Product Owners in the business and tech to understand the processes and personas enabled by the products in scope as a means of designing a fit for purpose service level agreement and corresponding support model. 


  • Maintain awareness of emerging technology in the market and technical industry trends related to the product space and uses the knowledge to contribute to product strategy.


  • Monitor system health, track performance metrics, and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement


  • Serve as point of contact for service operations performance and support advice/expertise for Product Directors


  • Collaborate with business and tech product owner in identifying issues and opportunities to inform the product roadmap


  • Collaborates with business data analysts and data stewards to resolve data related issues and provides leadership and technical direction to DevOps teams.


  • Accountable for Maintenance and Support of multiple Data Domains, adopting agile, DevOps and DataOps principles and ensuring stability of all the Data Products in the Org. 


  • Understand product dependencies and establish network to manage these dependencies when they are outside the scope of the service (this includes but is not limited to engagements with Tech Ops and Global Platforms & Technology teams where required) 


  • Understand business processes and personas enabled by the data products in scope of the service

Basic Qualifications: 


We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:


  • BE or MS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience, with a preference on experience and proven track record. An ideal candidate would have a hands-on work history in an advanced, recognized, and innovative environment.


  • 6+ years of experience in working in a product-oriented cross-functional squads in maintenance & Support of Data Products, Cloud services, Data Management


  • Understanding of mesh technology and its applications in pharma R&D analytics, such as data integration, data governance, data quality, data security, data lineage, data cataloging, data discovery, data access, data sharing, data collaboration, etc.


  • Hands on Experience working with Data Virtualization tools such as Denodo and Microsoft Fabric/ Data Fabric is needed


  • Clinical Pharmacology experience and handling clinical data in different formats such as SDTM


  • Experience with Agile delivery frameworks and tools: SAFe, Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, etc.


  • Strong working knowledge of Azure cloud services and components, and the ability to stitch together various components to Support a scalable, reliable, and sustainable data analytics solution


  • Key knowledge of architecture and deployment patterns, designing an end-to-end support model with economies of scale in mind, Capacity management, Mentoring the third-party vendors to make sure support needs are met


  • Experience on ITIL, Regulatory GXP Standards, Access management etc. 


  • The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate inherently complicated technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders of all levels


Preferred Qualifications: 


  • Experience managing data generated/consuming by Development teams e.g. clinical operations, biostats, safety, regulatory.


  • Masters or PhD in computer science, engineering or similar discipline


  • Experience constructing a data fabric or similar architecture


  • Understanding of where emerging technologies can drive automation in the creation and management of data products


  • Design and architecture of BI and analytic environments


  • Enablement of AI/ML users and applications
