Job Title









Principal Product Owner

Key Responsibilities:



  • Product Ownership: Manage the product backlog for Scrum teams, translating business objectives into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.



  • Prioritization: Own and manage priorities, effectively handling last-minute requests, resolving conflicting priorities, and ensuring the team remains productive despite blockers.



  • Mentorship: Coach and develop other Product Owners, setting high standards and fostering a culture of excellence.



  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders for future roadmap planning, ensuring readiness for upcoming objectives.



  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance product offerings, provide actionable recommendations, and drive implementation.



  • Industry Awareness: Stay updated on industry trends, particularly in hospitality, to inform product development.



  • Governance: Serve as a key liaison for governance, ensuring adherence to best practices and organizational standards.



  • Collaboration: Work closely with Scrum teams and Product Manager to ensure clear understanding of requirements and priorities, balancing customer needs with technical feasibility.



  • Performance Tracking: Analyze team performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.



  • Accountability: Hold oneself and others accountable for delivering high-quality work on time.



  • Effective Communication: Proactively share updates, anticipate challenges, and maintain transparency regarding delays, budget considerations, and scope management to prevent scope creep.



Requirements



  • Experience: Proven experience as a Senior Product Owner in an Agile environment, with expertise in SAFemethodology.



  • Industry Knowledge: Strong hospitality industry knowledge or experience working with CRS systems.



  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Rally, Confluence, Microsoft tools, and customer journey mapping platforms such as Lucidchart.



  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.



  • Leadership: Ability to manage multiple priorities and build strong stakeholder relationships.




Preferred Skills:



  • Revenue Management: Deep knowledge of revenue management practices within the hospitality industry.



  • Ecosystem Understanding: Strong understanding of hospitality pricing, distribution, channel management, and connectivity.
