Job Description


This is an exciting time to join GSK Global Supply Chain. Given the increased focus on Data and AI and the need to ensure we have a comprehensive strategy that is aligned to the manufacturing, quality and supply chain business, a role of Principal – Functional Lead – Data Governance & Data Quality is created.


You will build a team of world-class Data Governance professionals and lead them to enable & adopt Data Governance solutions for Global Supply Chain (GSC). Your team will work closely with business, product, and data teams to identify and implement industry leading solutions to improve data reliability, quality & discoverability, providing functional leadership & mentorship to the team.


You will work with senior leadership across various business lines within GSK and partner with them to setup processes and technology solutions that enable data driven decisions. You will also be responsible to work with other technology groups in enabling a seamless data pipeline for measuring data quality and enabling data governance.


This role has two key aspect – Functional Leadership and Process / Project Ownership.


Functional Leadership - Responsibilities


  • Subject Matter Expert for Data Governance subject areas (& Products) like Data Quality Management, Metadata Management, Data Catalog Management, Data Lineage, Data Marketplace, Data Classification, Data Privacy, etc.


  • Lead scaled adoption of Self-Serve Data Governance & Data Quality Products / Solutions within Business, Technology and Data & AI groups in GSC.


  • Understand new subject areas & product feature requests from user groups & policies. Co-ordinate with engineering team to enable them.


  • Manage business & stakeholder relationship for the group.


  • Promote Data Culture and Data Literacy


  • Lead a team of contingency workers & consultants across roles like Data Governance Analysts, Technical Stewards, Data Quality Analysts & SQL Engineers


Process & Project Ownership - Responsibilities


  • Define Data Governance and Data Quality Business / Tech Processes. Contribute to writing & maintaining SOPs.


  • Drive Data Governance & Data Quality Projects for Business, Technology and Data & AI groups.


  • Track Budget & Finances - Serve as a point of contact & interface with finance leads.


  • Ownership of Agile processes & Product Release activities from process standpoint


  • Ownership of Product Quality Assurance Strategy & Execution


  • Lead a team of contingency workers & consultants across roles like Scrum Master, Project Manager & QA Analysts


Desired Qualification:


  • Overall, 10-15 yrs. of experience with Bachelor's in computer science, software engineering, or related field


  • 8+ years of experience within data domain. Progressive Data Management experience in Data Warehousing, Data Mart, Data Lake, and related technologies


  • 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Quality.


  • 3+ years of experience in managing working groups involving various cross functional stakeholders.


  • 3+ years of experience in leading teams in data space


  • Strong fundamental knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management & related subject areas.


  • Expert functional knowledge in at least 1 Data Governance tool. Collibra is preferred, but not mandatory.


  • Knowledge of Data Quality Rules creation at scale. Expert SQL Skills.


  • Governance & Risk mindset.


Preferred Qualification:


  • Knowledge of Data ecosystems in Pharma, Supply Chain or Manufacturing industries.


  • Knowledge of Master Data Management & Reference Data Management


  • Knowledge of GxP ecosystem


  • Data Engineering, Data Modelling or Data Architecture background is an added advantage.


  • Knowledge of BI is an added advantage.
