We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Principal Engineer.

The Digital Channels team in Wholesale Technology design, build and deliver online services to all of HSBC’s corporate and business customers globally. This ranges from single owner businesses right through to the largest multi-national brands.  We are organized as a set of service and platform teams that work together to enable our customers to unlock their business potential. We are investing heavily across our Technology and Digital domains, and to accelerate achieving our vision, we are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to join Digital Channels. You will be accountable to the Global Head of Engineering Standards and will support end-to-end execution of the Digital strategy as it aligns to the overall Technology strategy.

Principle Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following duties with high level of competence:

·The role is to lead and drive the use of technology in the delivery of products to external clients and internal staff specifically within the technology delivery teams of HSBCnet. The role is to be the driving force in technology engineering by providing leadership and technical guidance to teams, to deliver excellent products to clients and internal staff, able to demonstrate influence through code to large parts of an organization.

·This is a hands-on role; we expect the candidate will be able to lead by example and have practical experience of building services and technical architecture to deliver digital solutions. A successful candidate will be expected to spend a large amount of time pairing with other developers and communicating not only through emails, meetings, etc but blogs, videos, talks and so on.
