Principal Architect - Solutions - HR

Introduction to role


Are you a visionary Principal Solution Architect with a passion for HR technologies? At AstraZeneca, we are looking for someone who can deliver impactful, innovative IT solutions that align with both business and IT strategies. As a Principal Solution Architect, you will ensure that our architectures, both logical and physical, comply with AZ standards, blueprints, and roadmaps. You will assess and review the work of other solution architects, balancing immediate needs with strategic goals. Your role will focus on current project portfolios over a 0-18 month horizon, defining and updating 'To-Be' architectures while considering the implications of 'As-Is' architectures.


Accountabilities


  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-level HCM, Talent Acquisition, and Learning & Development solutions.


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into solutions.


  • Innovate and explore new technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of HR processes.


  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight for the integration of new systems and technologies.


  • Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of enterprise solutions.


  • Develop Architecture Building Blocks to support the implementation of Enterprise Architecture in the specific area.


  • Lead and/or actively participate in Enterprise domain teams and working groups applicable to domain accountability.


Essential Skills/Experience


  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Information System or related discipline


  • 10+ years of experience in architecture


  • Experience producing application strategies/roadmaps for a global enterprise in their focused architecture domain


  • Proven architecture experience with at least one HCM implementation (ideally Workday) for a global organisation


  • Understanding of Human Capital Management, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, eLearning and/or Employee Experience


  • Experience with large product evaluations, business case formulation


  • Experience developing and influencing business strategies with cross-functional team impact


  • Experience developing and leading innovative solutions


  • Proven experience of leading change and challenging approaches/ideas


  • Experience developing and managing relationships with third-party suppliers


  • Experience working within and developing policies, procedures and guidelines within a secure, quality, and compliance environment


  • Strong networking skills with good internal/external links


  • Strong communication, facilitation and relationship-building skills


  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language


  • Awareness of developments in the marketplace and understand the relevance and potential impact to AZ IS


  • Ability to work well in diverse, multinational teams and proven ability to influence others to achieve positive outcomes.


Desirable Skills/Experience


  • Demonstrate initiative, strong customer orientation, and cross-cultural working


  • People Development experience


  • Experience working in pharmaceutical, healthcare and biotech industry


  • Familiarity with data science, AI/ML architecture


  • Knowledge of HR technologies: Workday, Cornerstone SBX, Degreed, Workhuman, eightfold.ai


  • Knowledge of AWS, ServiceNow, Snowflake, Mulesoft, Snaplogic


  • Good business acumen


  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry and of competitor activity on a particular architecture and Information Management
