Job Description
As an Electrical Power Systems Design and Control Architect,
•You will be part of a global product development team for electrification in a system integration environment for Marine, Offshore, Onshore, and Process Industry.
•You will have system responsibility in a multidisciplinary (mechanical, electrical power, control system) team working with studies and development of electrical power equipment and systems. This includes performing power system calculations and simulations (e.g. MATLAB), electrical design of equipment / systems, writing technical specifications, writing test procedures, performing testing etc.
•You will contribute to developing the Electrification Solutions, which are part of our integral Electrification, Automation and Digital solutions, which require knowhow and background in the respective domains.
•You will contribute to the development of both the traditional AC as well as futuristic DC power distribution solutions as part of the execution of R&D projects with piloting in the first customer projects that includes all technical documentation.
•Designing, and optimizing power system solutions for various applications in line with customer segment requirements.
•You will, on daily basis, interact with international teams and customers with different cultures.
How You’ll Make an Impact
•Electric Power System design: Create power delivery and control architectures for specific segments in terms of reliability, availability and expandability that may comprise of new energy elements such as BESS, Solar or Wind in addition to conventional generation and grid connectivity
•Electric Power System studies and modeling: Co-create integrated power system and control models and co-perform system offline studies and real time simulations to validate design concepts and predict system behavior
•Performance analysis: Collaborate with team to analyze performance data to improve/enhance power system design efficiency and reliability
•Cross-team engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional local and global teams to achieve a binding of power system design with control solution and working towards a standardized approach for different architectures or variants.
•Compliance to standards: Ensure that designs comply with industrial and international standards with inherent best practices
•Innovative approaches: Drive innovation based on latest technological advancements in AC/DC power systems and control, based on ‘out-of-the-box’ thinking
•Team player: Ability to work in a flexible, multi-functional team-based development environment comprising of Siemens Energy personnel and 3rd party consulting/OEMs.
•Documentation: Co-create detailed design specifications, technical drawings, and user documentation
•Mentorship: Mentor, guide junior engineers and freshers from Universities towards power systems studies and control simulations, oversee their deliverables, and ensure work quality.
