About the team
We are the Global Infrastructure and Cloud services PostgreSQL database team. We manage a wide range of database support services such as setup, config, manage and support PostgreSQL databases on-prem and on-Cloud. Our team is supporting clients in North America and EMEA regions.
What you will be doing
Work with Microsoft to design, manage and support High Availability, Reliability, Backup/Restore, GEO redundancy and Disaster Recovery scenarios
Perform performance analysis, review parameters and tune / optimize SQL queries. Work closely with application teams to create database objects to ensure performance optimization.
Write or Tune SQL queries, review data model and structures and provide recommendation for database table structures.
Write KQL queries, Query store, Intelligent tuning, and query stats, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views. Identify potential issues in database and SQL issues to solve them early.
Analyze and coordinate with application development teams fixing technical SQL problems.
Setup and perform Backup/restore/recovery. Setup Read Replica, perform failover and failback PostgreSQL between zones and regions.
Plan and coordinate with Microsoft for data backups, DR restore/recovery and setup vendor escalation procedures.
Troubleshot and fix database and SQL performance slowness
Provide 24 x 7 operation and on-call production support
What you bring:
We require a professional role of high level of proficiently. The candidate must work independently and display ability to overcome most obstacles and drive solutions.
Must have deep knowledge and 7+ years of hands-on cloud infrastructure support in PostgreSQL Azure and AWS handling Availability, Reliability, Backup/Restore, GEO redundancy and Disaster Recovery scenarios.
Must have application, data model knowledge and have expert level in writing and tuning SQL queries in PostgreSQL.
