The Role
As a Portfolio Manager with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.
Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Lead, manage, and coordinate engineering activities for medium and large-scale fertilizer, chemical, petrochemical, refinery projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion while adhering to industry standards and safety regulations.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, ensuring high performance, technical excellence, and alignment with project objectives.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical leadership across multiple engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil, instrumentation, etc.) and ensure that all technical specifications and design standards are met.
- Project Planning & Execution: Develop and implement engineering project plans, schedules, and budgets. Oversee engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup phases.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including project owners, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities, to ensure smooth project execution and resolve any technical issues.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks during the engineering design and execution phases, implement mitigation strategies, and proactively manage project risks.
- Quality Control: Ensure quality assurance and control standards are met throughout the project, managing project deliverables to the highest technical and safety standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities comply with local, national, and international standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Budget & Cost Control: Oversee project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and optimal resource allocation while maintaining scope, schedule, and safety standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, providing insights on new technologies, methodologies, and best practices in the oil & gas, chemical, and petrochemical industries.

About You
To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Civil, or related field). Master’s degree preferred.
- 18+ years of experience in the engineering and project management of fertilizer, chemical, petrochemical and refinery projects.
- Proven experience in managing large, complex projects from conceptual design to commissioning and start-up.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., ASME, API, IEC, ISO).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and lead projects under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and technical troubleshooting expertise.
Additional Skills:
- Experience with advanced engineering software and project management tools.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Deep understanding of project cost control, risk management, and quality assurance.
