Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
Experience:- 8-10 years of Polarion Support experience, with at least 3 years supporting a customer Production instance
- Engineering degree from a reputed university
- Proficient usage of English
- Ability to write documentation concisely. Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively
- Contributes to process improvement in Application support and maintenance, providing feedback on the use of processes, systems, and tools in real world situations
- Focusses on mentoring others to improve technical delivery & support across the business, proactively sharing knowledge to transfer expertise
- Understands common software development principles and lifecycle
- Ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment
Roles and Responsibilities:- Work in shifts to provide 24x7 support for customers.
- Address L2 tickets related to the application.
- Apply patches to Test, UAT, and Production servers.
- Document root cause analyses for identified issues.
- Contact GTAC for product-related issues and raise IRs.
- Engage with users to resolve issues.
- Coordinate with the Implementation team for L3 issues.
- Build a Knowledge Management database for resolved issues.
Mandatory Skills:- Polarion installation & Configuration
- Working expertise with web applications, client-server architecture
- Mentoring of junior team members
- Strong analytical and trouble shooting skills
- Has a detailed way to address problems
- Capable of conducting root cause analysis to identify the appropriate solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good Team player
- Learning demeanour - willing to learn new things
- Basic Linux and Windows Operating System knowledge
Certifications:- ITIL
- AWS Cloud Certifications
Good to Have Skills:- Ability to automate tasks and knowledge of scripting.
- Experience with Polarion implementation/customization; familiarity with competitive solutions like Jira or IBM Rational Doors may be considered.
- DBA knowledge of PostgreSQL and understanding of cloud-based hosting, including AWS.
- Strong grasp of ALM processes and experience with ALM, Requirements Management, or Test Management applications.
- Familiarity with Apache Lucene and ability to use techniques like Pareto or 5 Whys for root cause analysis.
- Experience working in an Agile environment and with version control systems like Git or SVN.
