We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of PMO, Project and Programme Management Office.


Principal responsibilities


  • Providing oversight of MSS portfoliochange governance for consistency to standardize reporting senior GBM management and Group forums
  • Providing transparency for MSS change resource plans, skills and capabilities so it can act as arbiter to redeploy resources in line with programme demand and delivery timelines
  • Acting as a ‘bench’ to facilitate urgent MSS initiatives quickly and effectively; Collaborating with global MSS business sponsors, execution owners and functional leads to maintain key measures of accountability, baselined plans and progress reporting
  • Enabling focus to remain on programme execution, unblocking critical issues and areas of conflict, and reducing administrative burden by supporting MSS Transformation reporting updates to Group/GBM

  • The PMO role works closely with one, or more Global Markets Programme Managers, to support programme planning and workstream facilitation for complex projects of varying scale from project definition to closure, while proactively balancing scope, schedule, budget, risks, team, outcomes and benefits.
  • The PMO will perform a number of tasks to ensure efficient project execution to agreed delivery timelines by:
  • Supporting the delivery of MSS Programmes through the utilisation of appropriate project management tools and templates in line with the HSBC Change Framework
  • Supporting the production of standard project & programme reporting and insights, such as PSC and Working Group slide decks
  • Milestone management in Clarity, including collation of completion evidence and storage; Managing day to day operational aspects of the programme such as:; Embody a culture of high performance through continual focus on improving efficiency and highlighting areas of under-performance
  • Help embed best practice principles through the wider MSS Transformation portfolio
  • Resourcing activity and procurement processes including HAT and CAP approvals, SOW review, raising Purchase Orders, supplier relationships and contract management
  • Monthly financial tracking including actuals analysis, forecasting & accruals.; Tracking of the Work Force Plan to ensure resourcing requirements and programme demand is met in line with Book of Work and delivery timelines
  • Track project risks, issues and dependencies, through challenging and taking action to remove obstacles; Maintain project change control, ensuring any changes to baseline are managed through change request and all impacts are considered
