Job Summary:
We're seeking an experienced Platform Operations Manager – Windows & VMware to drive our global technical operations of VMware ESX and Windows within our Infrastructure Hosting Platform. You'll be at the forefront to manage and lead the operations of VMware ESX-based Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Windows capabilities hosted both on-premises and in AWS/MS Azure and to ensure the environment is reliable, secure and scalable.
If you have good experience in leading and managing a team that’s responsible for VMware and Windows administration, server consolidation, and thrive in large, geographically dispersed enterprise environments, this role is for you. You and the team will work with our most critical infrastructure, supporting sites in multi-datacenter stretch clusters. Our goal is to enhance infrastructure availability and reliability through repeatable patterns, innovative architectural designs, and improved observability to prevent outages and drive value across the organization.
In this role, you'll provide technical expertise and leadership, guiding operations teams and collaborating with other platform infrastructure SMEs to deliver daily operations effectively.
How You’ll Succeed
Key Responsibilities:
Operations management
· Maintain service operations to ensure sustainability.
· Incident, Change, Service Request and Problem management.
· Maintaining, tracking, and reporting of service levels.
· Manage day-to-day operations and enhance systems, processes, and best practices.
· Collaborate with other Tech@Lilly functions and stakeholders to align operations with organizational objectives.
People management
· Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment.
· Oversee staffing plans, recruitment, and onboarding of resources.
· Ability to organize, delegate, and leverage resources to accomplish objectives.
· Monitor employee and team performance, offering coaching, training, and feedback for improvement.

· Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and guide teams in high quality, agile focused, team-based, enterprise-grade, infrastructure solutions delivery globally.
· Strong analytical, problem solving & organizational abilities.
· Keen planner, strategist & implementer with demonstrated abilities in IT infrastructure planning and management for streamlining business operations and organizational and time management skills
· An effective communicator with excellent relationship building & interpersonal skills.
· Excellent meeting management and reporting skills with exceptional customer service skills.
· Cultivate and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
· Identify and quantify all the risks, define mitigation plan and monitor all risks on regular basis.
· Stay updated on industry trends and best practices. Integrate new technologies and business processes as needed.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
· Work closely with business units, application teams, and other IT departments to address requirements, dependencies, and operational needs.
· Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates on operational performance, projects, and incidents.
