Job Description
We are seeking a Platform Operations Director to join our team, dedicated to delivering innovative and scalable solutions that drive financial market operations and support asset management. This initiative focuses on enhancing operational excellence, strengthening client relationships, and leading teams responsible for developing and maintaining resilient, high-performing technology solutions.
The project emphasizes strategic oversight, the integration of advanced telemetry systems, and the adoption of cloud-native technologies and Kubernetes. It requires a comprehensive understanding of financial markets, asset management processes, and the overarching business landscape to ensure seamless operations and impactful outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing in-house telemetry tools on Python to extract information from remote sources, processing the information and loading into central repositories
- Enhance and own our platform observability framework by refining and deploying telemetry based alerting and corresponding Incident and Problem Management processes.
- Be involved from inception of projects, understanding requirements, designing and developing solutions, and incorporating them into the designs of our platforms
- Defining, implementing and ensuring accountability for platform wide Service Level Agreements (SLAs) through monitoring and measuring platform availability, performance, and overall health.
- Act as a mentor to your team and wider organisation on technology and best practices of platform and service delivery.
- Own and build regional relationships with key internal and external clients.
- Partner with our Engineering, Product and Program Management teams in supporting the growth of our product and platform.
- Assist in troubleshooting issues, support the operation of production software.
- Write technical documentation.
- Leading a talented team who are responsible for supporting and delivering the platform.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in Platform Operations, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or related technology leadership roles.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Telemetry Platforms like Prometheus, Grafana or Splunk.
- 5+ years of experience in Cloud-native technologies (AWS/Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform).
- 5+ years of experience in Incident Management and Service Operations.
- 3+ years of experience with Python.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to align technology solutions with business objectives and drive innovation.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
- Experience leading geographically distributed teams and collaborating across multiple stakeholders.
- Proven experience managing and mentoring teams in a client-facing, high-pressure environment.
- Strong understanding of financial markets and asset management processes.
