We are looking for Platform Manager


As a Platform Manager TCMS, you are a member of the platform team for metro trains. You act as the primary contact between the sales departments and the engineering team for the platform solutions in your scope. As a Platform Manager TCMS, you will be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of the TCMS platform, from design and development to deployment and maintenance. Your leadership and technical expertise will be crucial in ensuring the platform's performance, scalability, and compliance with industry standards.


You’ll make a difference by


  • Requirements Engineering: Work closely with the sales departments to elicit continuously the customers’ needs and translate their inputs into requirements.
  • Industry Trends: Observe and analyse relevant competitors' products and solutions. Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in TCMS.
  • Platform Lifecycle Management: Oversee the complete lifecycle of the TCMS platform, including conceptualisation, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Feature Management: Create and maintain the feature & portfolio list, add new features as backlog items, evaluate their respective customer value and prioritise them. Decide whether specific customer requirements will be included in overall platform concept or not.
  • Technical Leadership: Work closely with the engineering teams in India and Austria to clearly communicate the customer needs and related requirements, provide guidance and direction to the team.
  • System Architecture: Define and manage the system architecture for TCMS, ensuring alignment with industry standards and customer requirements across projects.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Manage and synchronize the cross functional teams consisting of engineering teams in Austria, India and Germany.
  • Technical Documentation: Manage the development of detailed system designs, interface specifications, and technical documentation for the TCMS.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor the performance of the TCMS platform, identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements.
  • Technical Sales Support: Support the sales team and present our TCMS solution space and its benefits to potential new customers, and – through active listening – work out the needs of the customers.

Desired Skills:


  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • At least 14 years of experience in the railway rolling stock industry with TCMS knowhow.
  • Strong understanding of train control architectures, communication protocols, and safety standards.
  • Experience in product platform management shall be preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Strategic mindset with a strong focus on standardization.
