Project Overview:


Bechtel is seeking to work with a major Indian corporation to provide Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Services for a mega Datacenter project in India. The EPCM Services for this Datacenter project will be led out of Bechtel’s India offices, primarily Chennai and New Delhi.


Job Summary:


In this role, you will work with the project team to assist in the preparation, establishment, and maintenance of schedule data for the project, proposals or contracts. You will perform schedule development duties, monitoring, reporting, and analysis and assist with schedule recovery plans. Your work will enable Bechtel to optimize the scheduling details for critical activities to best achieve project deadlines and objectives.


Major Responsibilities:


  • Experience in schedule development, control, and analysis, in the home office for Datacenter projects.
  • Assists in the preparation of schedule data for Datacenter proposals or contracts.
  • Establishes and maintains the schedule for a specific discipline, area or specialty.
  • Performs schedule development duties to include establishing the work breakdown structure (WBS), determining the work activity duration and establishing the proper workflow logic ties. Collection, verification, and integration of work scope for individual entities related to Engineering. Procurement and Construction into the total project plan.
  • Performs schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and updating functions for specific applications, disciplines, or specialties.
  • Responsible for obtaining required schedule information by all relevant disciplines.
  • Assists with maintenance of critical path schedule reports and schedule performance metrics.
  • Performs schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to finding criticality of schedule activities.
  • Assists with look ahead schedules, work front analysis and schedule recovery plans.
  • Reports to and receives technical guidance and operational supervision from designated supervisory personnel.

Education and Experience Requirements:


  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Skilled in oral and written communication.
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialised instruction or practical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, perform, review, and present schedule products independently with minimal supervision. This includes using a high level of professional judgment and knowledge related to technical planning and scheduling skills and engineering design, construction, and procurement practices.
