Job Title: Piping Design Engineer / Checker

Location: Trichy

Experience Required: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (BE) with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the design stream.

• Create and review piping designs using AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and Navisworks.
  
  
• Model piping and equipment in a 3D environment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
  
  
• Generate Piping Isometrics, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, and layouts.
  
  
• Develop and manage Piping Bill of Materials (BOM) and Material Take-Off (MTO) documents.
  
  
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of piping designs.
  
  
• Navigate and review 3D models in Navisworks, ensuring design integrity and clash-free layouts.
  
  
• Understand and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), particularly for boilers and power plants.
  
  
• Check and verify design outputs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project standards.
  
  
• Ensure all deliverables are prepared and submitted on time, maintaining high standards of quality.
  
  
• Communicate effectively with clients, understanding their requirements and addressing concerns.
  
  
• Participate in client meetings, providing insights and solutions related to piping design.
  
  
• Lead and mentor a team of junior engineers and designers.
  
  
• Allocate tasks and manage the team’s workflow to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  
  

• Strong hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and Navisworks.
  
• Proficiency in creating 3D models, Piping Isometrics, GA drawings, and Piping Layouts.
  
• In-depth knowledge of Piping BOM, MTO, and Piping Material Specifications (PMS).
  
• Familiarity with piping support systems and basic understanding of stress analysis.
  
• Solid understanding of P&ID for boilers and power plants.
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team interactions.
  
• Strong leadership abilities to manage and guide a team towards successful project completion.
  

• Additional certification in Piping Stress Analysis would be an advantage.
  
• Prior experience in a similar role within the Boiler or Power Plant sectors is highly desirable.
