Job Summary:
The Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) for Physics will be responsible for teaching Physics to senior secondary students according to the ICSE curriculum. The teacher will work to impart in-depth knowledge, promote scientific inquiry, and foster students' interest in Physics.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching:
- Teach Physics to classes as per the ICSE curriculum for Grades 11 and 12.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that enhance student understanding of fundamental and advanced concepts in Physics.
- Use varied instructional strategies and resources to cater to different learning styles.
- Prepare and grade assignments, quizzes, and examinations to assess student progress.
Classroom Management:
- Maintain discipline and create a positive learning environment in the classroom.
- Foster curiosity and interest in Physics through interactive activities and experiments.
Student Support:
- Provide additional academic support to students, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Offer mentorship and guidance to students, particularly in preparing for board exams and internal assessments.
- Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills in students.
Curriculum Development & Planning:
- Assist in the development and updating of the Physics curriculum to ensure it aligns with the latest ICSE standards.
- Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum reviews, and professional development activities.
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance.
Laboratory Management:
- Supervise and conduct practical experiments in the Physics laboratory.
- Ensure that all lab equipment is maintained and functioning.
- Teach safety procedures in the lab.
Communication:
- Maintain effective communication with parents, students, and the school administration regarding academic progress and any concerns.
Co-curricular Activities:
- Participate in school events, workshops, and seminars related to science and physics.
- Encourage students to participate in science fairs and Olympiads.
RequirementsQualifications:
- Educational Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Physics (M.Sc. Physics).
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is desirable.
- Experience:
- Minimum 8years of teaching experience in an ICSE residential school or equivalent school.
- Experience in teaching Physics to senior secondary students is preferred.
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of the ICSE Physics curriculum and exam patterns.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to explain complex scientific concepts in a simple and engaging manner.
- Familiarity with modern teaching tools and technology (like smart boards, online teaching platforms, etc.).
- Classroom management and student engagement techniques.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
