About this Position
We are seeking a highly skilled PD Specialist - Polyurethane/Epoxy Potting to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in developing and applying polyurethane and epoxy potting techniques to encapsulate and protect electronic components. This role involves working closely with application engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure high-performance solutions for demanding electronic applications

What you'll do
  • Select and evaluate appropriate polyurethane and epoxy materials for potting applications.
  • Develop custom formulations to meet specific application requirements, such as thermal conductivity, electrical insulation, and chemical resistance.
  • Conduct material and product testing to ensure adherence to industry standards (e.g., dielectric strength, thermal expansion, and adhesion).
  • Troubleshoot issues such as material compatibility, curing anomalies, and voids.
  • Collaborate with application engineering (AE) teams to integrate potting solutions into product designs.
  • Ensure all potting materials and processes comply with industry standards such as IPC/JEDEC, RoHS, and REACH.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Work with suppliers to evaluate new materials and technologies for potting applications.
  • Establish strong relationships with vendors to ensure consistent material quality and availability.
  • Manage multiple potting projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, production, and quality teams to achieve project objectives

What makes you a good fit
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in polyurethane/epoxy potting for electronic applications
  • Master's degree in Materials Science, Polymer science, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of the properties of polyurethanes, epoxies, and other encapsulation materials.
  • Familiarity with environmental protection requirements (e.g., water resistance, thermal stability, UL certification).
  • Proficiency in using material analysis tools such as DSC, TGA, or DMA is an advantage
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail and strong communication and teamwork abilities.
