Roles and Responsibilities


The Payments Controller team is seeking to hire highly motivated candidates to join the Payments product Controllers team based in Bengaluru and work closely with all regional product controllers to carry out control function and support product managers and business managers. Roles includes below functions:


  • Primarily responsible for review of the monthly close activities including financial data, journals, significant variances and transactions, financial reporting deliverable, accruals estimation, reconciliations, general ledger substantiation etc and ensure the high quality of deliverables.
  • Manage, coach, supervise, inspire and motivate the small group of individuals 
  • Ensure appropriate controls and reviews maintained for processes executed by team
  • Manage relationship with regional stakeholders in US, Business managers, Product managers and financial controllers. Take regular feedback, anticipate and understand issues and escalate appropriately for timely resolution.
  • Driving change with month-end process in order to improve transparency and efficiency in month-end results.
  • Ensure financial information is in compliance with US & local GAAP and firm’s corporate accounting policies, documenting exceptions where appropriate.
  • Act as a resource to project management & the businesses for various projects / business initiatives at a global and local level  
  • Manage ad-hoc business requests and address them with sense of urgency
  • Understand and contribute to the E2E control framework of the business & the function

Experience and Qualifications


  • Qualified / Part Qualified accountant preferably with 6-8 years & above experience within the Financial Services industry or Product Controller experience an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence including the ability to present complex and sensitive matters to Senior management, Product Managers & Business Managers across levels.
  • Analytical mind-set, structured approach, attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and people managerial skills 
  • Ability to manage several projects and tasks concurrently 
  • Strong Control mindset with proven skills in identifying and resolving control issues that may impact financial results
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization with limited local oversight ensuring timely escalation & resolution of issues
  • Good knowledge of Merchant Acquiring business & SAP ledger system is preferred
