Job Title: Banking & Finance Partner

About the Firm:

A leading full-service law firm is looking for a seasoned professional to lead and expand its banking, finance, and project finance practice. The ideal candidate should bring a portable book of business amounting to at least 1.5x their current compensation. Preference will be given to candidates who can bring a team along or are empanelled with leading banks and financial institutions.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage complex banking, finance, and project finance transactions.
  • Advise on structured finance, corporate lending, debt restructuring, and distressed asset transactions.
  • Draft and negotiate loan agreements, bond deeds, framework agreements, EPC contracts, share subscription & shareholder agreements, and regasification agreements.
  • Conduct legal due diligence and assess project-related risks across infrastructure, energy, and industrial sectors.
  • Counsel clients on insolvency & bankruptcy matters, regulatory compliance, and financing structures.
  • Maintain and expand strong relationships with banks, NBFCs, financial institutions, project developers, and investors.
  • Drive business development initiatives, leveraging an established client network to expand the firm's market presence.
Key Requirements:
  • 12+ years of experience in banking & finance, project finance, or insolvency & restructuring.
  • Established portable book of business (1.5x current compensation required).
  • Strong network within the banking and financial sector, with a preference for candidates already empanelled with leading banks/NBFCs.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead a team (bringing a team along is a strong advantage).
  • Extensive experience in power, infrastructure, renewable energy, oil & gas, and industrial projects.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, RBI guidelines, and IBC proceedings.
  • Strong negotiation, contract drafting, and client management skills.
  • Law degree from a recognized university; Bar Council of India membership preferred.
