We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of a Consultant Specialist.
Roles & Responsibilities:1. Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and expertise in all aspects of data management , data modeling and database design. Guide and mentor the engineering team members, ensuring adherence to best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines. Provide governance to ensure the reuse of APIs / events etc
2. Project Delivery: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, product owners, and business stakeholders, to define data requirements, scope, and timelines. Understand the data movement controls and ensure that they are adhered to in the entire project lifecycle.
3. Build Generic Data Capabilities: Build generic data capabilities that are reusable, extendable and support a variety of use cases across database, APIs and events . Redesign relational database schemas to MongoDB document style schemas
4. Event schema modelling, publication of events in a reusable canonical format
5. Collaboration and Communication: Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment. Effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders, including developers, architects, testers, and project managers, to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
6. Work with the central teams on aligning physical models with generic logical data models
7. Technical Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of data driven architecture, messaging systems, databases and APIs. Apply this expertise to design and implement robust and efficient data model capabilities. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to data management systems.
8. Contribute to the Data Architecture Strategy, particularly model management artefact management
9. Additional Responsibilities
• Create and manage a repository (catalogue) of schemas to allow for discovery
• Assist and guide delivery teams with the implementation of data movement controls
• Quality Assurance: Ensure the data quality and controls are implemented across all facets of the project. Define and implement appropriate data models, data inventory management, reporting, usage of right tools for fast and efficient access of data. This includes (but not limited to) caching, replication, archival strategy, billing , audit etc. Collaborate with the quality assurance team to identify and resolve any data gaps/issues.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including data specifications, classification, inventories, and user guides. Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible to team members and stakeholders. Help the delivery team to capture data lineage using best practices.
