Lead the ORM team in India in close collaboration with SSGA ORM Head and directs.
Collaborate with SSGA Operational Risk leadership as well as the Enterprise Risk Management teams within STT India and SSGA globally.
Oversee Targeted Risk Assessments conducted by the team and ensure adherence to STT defined standards.
Perform Review and challenge for all Incidents as per the defined standards.
Perform walkthroughs with business unit management and subject matter experts identifying areas of risk and control weaknesses and opportunities for improving the risk environment.
Evaluation of the control design and operating effectiveness of the end-to-end process to ensure operational and compliance risks are appropriately mitigated, and regulatory obligations are met.
Ability to manage staff in a matrix environment and oversee employee development, concerns, and time management.
Develop content/domain knowledge expertise for Op Risk tasks and ensure agreed upon service metrics (accuracy, timeliness, and volumes) are consistently met and that metrics represent the true health of the process and support production of management reporting.
Assist Team manager find and implement process improvements that reduce processing time and speed up response time and proactively resolve inquiries and exceptions on a case-by-case basis by collaborating with functional teams. Proactively look for opportunities to increase process efficiency (reports).
Build strong partnerships with team members and managers in regional locations and demonstrate effective communication in all interactions and function as coordinator for resolution of issues.
Develop and maintain ad-hoc reporting capability (via Excel or Tableau) to address requests from Operational Risk team, other control functions and business management.
Oversee collation and preparation of monthly Key Risk Indicator (KRI) data for Risk Committee Reporting; maintain clear documentation of source(s), data received any commentary provided.
Assist local teams in implementing global Risk Management practices.
Experience required:
Bachelor’s degree in business / finance or equivalent
Experience in Risk Management, Compliance and/or Audit preferred!
Asset Management experience either in line of business or support functions is a plus.
15+ years of experience in Banking/Asset Management/Financial Services industry
Demonstration of effective communication and interaction with all levels of the organization. Approach’s role with a sense of urgency and prominent level of independence
Willingness to use technology and systems to build value adding risk monitoring processes and reporting.
