We are seeking a skilled and experienced Red Hat OpenShift Platform Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, deploying, and maintaining our Red Hat OpenShift infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of containerization, Kubernetes, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Due to the nature of the job, the candidate must be a US citizen.
Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain the Red Hat OpenShift infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and upgrades.
Monitor and optimize system performance, capacity, and availability of the OpenShift environment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of applications and services into the OpenShift platform.
Develop and implement best practices for deploying and managing containerized applications using Red Hat OpenShift.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to container orchestration, networking, storage, security, and other aspects of the OpenShift environment.
Work closely with development teams to support the deployment and scaling of applications in a containerized environment.
Create and maintain documentation for operational processes, procedures, and configurations.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in containerization and cloud-native technologies.
Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical production systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
5+ years experience as a Linux system administrator, preferably with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or CentOS.
Proficient in managing container orchestration platforms, specifically Red Hat OpenShift.
Solid understanding of Kubernetes concepts and experience with deploying and managing applications in a Kubernetes environment.
Knowledge of cloud technologies, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure, and experience with cloud-based deployments.
Strong scripting and automation skills, with proficiency in Bash, Python, or similar languages.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) for troubleshooting and performance analysis.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins or GitLab.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a remote team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification.
Experience with Ansible for infrastructure automation and configuration management.
Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) and network security concepts.
Experience with database administration (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Knowledge of DevOps principles and practices.
