MVO Eco-Design Leader


Schneider Electric is seeking a dynamic and experienced Eco-Design Leader to drive and facilitate the global network of Eco-Design engineers & champions within the Medium Voltage Offers Line of Business. This strategic role involves leading and coordinating a team of Eco-Design engineers worldwide, with the primary goal of advancing sustainable and environmentally responsible practices across the medium voltage offers portfolio.


This position is based in Bangalore, India.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Be the Eco-design engineer for India Hub, working closely with the already in place team of eco-referents in India:
  • Lead eco-design initiatives to minimize environmental impact and enhance the sustainability of medium voltage products within India Hub.
  • Collaborate with squads to integrate eco-design requirements into product development lifecycles.
  • Conduct life cycle assessments (LCA) and environmental impact evaluations to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure readiness of Environmental Data Sheet for MVO offers
  1. Provide leadership and direction to the global network of Eco-Design engineers, ensuring alignment with the company's sustainability objectives and initiatives.
  2. Ensure the follow up & implementation of Energy Management global strategy for eco-design practices, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among Eco-Design Engineers & squads.
  3. Act as a key influencer and advocate for sustainable engineering practices, driving awareness and engagement across the Medium Voltage Offers Line of Business.
  4. Establish best practices, guidelines, and tools to support Eco-Design engineers & squads in integrating eco-design principles into product development processes.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, engineering, product management, and sustainability teams, to promote eco-design integration and influence product roadmaps.
  6. Monitor and evaluate the progress of eco-design initiatives, providing guidance, feedback, and support to Eco-Design engineers as they work to enhance the environmental performance of medium voltage products.
  7. Represent the Medium Voltage Offers engineering commitment to eco-design and sustainable innovation internally & externally.

Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field with strong experience (minimum 5 years) in Electromechanical design (preferably within Electromechanical industry), with a track record of driving impactful change.
  • Proven experience in eco-design, sustainable engineering, or environmental management.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainable engineering practices, and product life cycle assessment methodologies.
  • Ability to seek for opportunities to speed up & automatize LCA activities, while leveraging AI possibly.
  • Excellent communication, networking, and stakeholder engagement capabilities, with a global mindset and cultural awareness.
  • Strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
