From brand and creative strategy to identity, campaigns, events, environments and digital — we do it all.


We are looking for a talented motion graphics art director and designer to help us tell video stories that bring the State Street brand to life. In this role, you will collaborate with diverse teams across marketing, communications, content and thought leadership globally to create compelling content for sales engagements, events, campaigns and digital channels.


This is a hands-on position that includes concepting and creating video and motion content from storyboarding to design, assembly, editing, color grading and production management. You will control the production process end-to-end, ensuring quality execution and efficient workflows.


You will report to the Head of Creative Services in State Street’s Global Marketing organization (Hyderabad/Bengaluru). We prefer and encourage our teams to work four days a week from office, and one day from home.

What you will be responsible for


As Motion Graphics Art Director and Designer, you will:


  • Collaborate with the internal and client account teams, leadership and peers to envision, create and deliver scalable, on-brand graphic, motion and video design solutions that will deliver across State Street’s corporate website, intranet, events, social media platforms and more


  • Work closely with your peers on the Brand and Creative team to ensure high quality, consistent design solutions in keeping with the firm’s brand guidelines and client experience principles


  • Direct motion and video designers — including third-party vendors when necessary — to create exceptional storyboard concepts, animations and videos


  • Manage the motion design competency in Creative Services, ensuring designers have clear design direction, workflow parameters and delivery goals.


  • Understand the Creative team’s overall pipeline to proactively manage time and deadlines, and report daily and weekly metrics on completed projects


  • Research, discover and implement new motion tools, technologies and industry best practices to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of State Street’s motion capabilities



What we value:


These skills will help you succeed in this role:


  • Expert proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator and Photoshop.


  • Experience directing and designing in 3D is a plus (e.g. Cinema 4D and Blender)


  • Flair and passion for motion concept development and storyboarding


  • Proactive, strategic thinker with an analytical mindset and a rigorous approach


  • Have a strong understanding of animation fundamentals, best practices and trends


  • Ability to lead motion projects, in both a hands-on design and production capacity, and directing other designers


  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently or within a group — and work with minimal supervision


  • Ability to coach and develop designers to raise the bar on conceptual thinking and sophisticated execution


  • Excellent leadership and problem-solving abilities


  • High attention to detail and a relentless drive to innovate


  • Good written and oral communication skills



Education & Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in audio-visual communications, graphic design or motion design or commensurate design experience along with a bachelor’s degree in any field


  • 8-10 years of hands-on experience in video and motion graphics development in a fast-paced environment with 2-3 years of experience directing designers or teams


  • A compelling demo/show reel is a must
