Primary Purpose of the Role


He / She contributes to the test bench hardware mechanical design and development activities and performs activities required to develop a test bench solution and/or HW building blocks associated with it.


  • Performs hardware development activities and generates associated manufacturing definition files.
  • Identifies the key BOM and compliance to ROHS, WEEE & REACH standards.
  • Contributes in co-engineering activities with the hardware, IVVQ and Systems Engineering team.
  • Performs development activity as per the CHORUS 2.0 process.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks


  • Understands the needs of the customer and formalize the function description, architectural design and requirements.                           
  • Details the hardware components requirements and support hardware mechanical design and development.
  • Contributes to the hardware architectural design.                       
  • Performs CAD activities (Mechanical CAD) for wiring harness, racks/cabinets design.                  
  • Development tools, jigs and fixtures for the UUT.                       
  • Participates in the integration activities and verification phases of test benches                            
  • Contributes to the production data pack generation and release dossier to Manufacturer.                         
  • Ensures the Configuration Management of the HW design elements in repository.                       
  • Contributes to the Change Management of the Hardware Solution.                                                            

Skills Required:


  • Capable of generating 3D CAD model (Part / Assembly).
  • Capable of generating 2D detailed drawing (Part / Assembly) in line with industry standards.
  • Capable of generating BILL OF MATERIALS for the designs.
  • Should be able to generate sheet metal and machined product CAD models (Part & Assembly).
  • Good experience in best practices for CAD modeling and drafting in CATIA.

Knowledge of manufacturing process


Test bench hardware knowledge.
