Interiors Mechanical Engineer (ME)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Is accountable for the interiors parts engineering of passenger interiors and/or front end and/or driver cab in compliance with the Centre of Excellence Interiors QCD commitments

Performance Measurement

• Design Reviews on-time
• Design review opened/closed issues
• GO tooling on-time
• 3D freeze on-time
• Documentation OTIF
• Number of modifications after 3D freeze
• Spent engineering hours vs. budget
• Respect of rules for CATIA File / DMA
• Respect of cost target

Responsibilities

• Design and development of interiors parts of the train using Catia V5 and DMA, taking into consideration inputs such as weight, acoustics, eco design, strength requirments e.t.c

• Deploys and applies on project Train Design development procedures, catalogue and standard solutions

• Optimizes the parts design to reach recurring and non-recurring costs targets and ensure the committed planning

• Works with external engineering sub-contractors and with site CAD engineers.

• Checks digital mock-up consistency (no interferences, equipments localisation and volume, interfaces...)

• Shold support Lead Engineer on design reviews by preparing necessary techincal documents

Knowledge & Experience :

• Engineering educational background
• 6 to 8  years experience in design of mechanical parts
• Excellent skills in CATIA V5
• Better if knowledge of DMA
• Better communication and coordination skills, English speaking

Competencies & Skills

• Excellent skills in CATIA V5
• Ability to prioritize and to work effectively under pressure to meet the deadline.
• Able to work in an international environment and matrix organization structure
• Good written and spoken communication skills (at least in English).
