Design solutions to drive safe living and quality of life

Support Honeywell (business) deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of customers. You will work under limited supervision and alongside some of the world's most talented engineers. You will contribute to the development of Honeywell's next generation (product) by designing, testing and validating products/processes from prototype to market. You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs while acting as a mentor to more junior engineers. You will interact with internal and external customers in order to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications.


Key Responsibilities

Preparation of Basic/Detailed engineering deliverables consisting of PMS, VMS, P&IDs Review, RFQs for FIMs, Speciality Item list, Line list & critical line list and Skid Engineering while ensuring compliance to UOP’s technical specification, Process and Procedures.


Incorporating the requirements of Local/statutory Requirements viz factory inspector, Indian Boiler Regulation (IBR), chief controller explosives (CCoE/PESO), tariff advisory committee (TAC), pollution board, local bodies, aviation authorities, and should have good knowledge of hazardous area classification.
Study and appraise Applicable codes on a Project, standards & statutory regulations, BEDQs & Site design data.
Providing inputs to different disciplines for various purposes.
Providing Guidance and review of CADWorx/PDS/PDMS database set-up by DEC at the beginning of Project.
Additional Position Accountabilities include:
Identifies needs and opportunities for Work Process and Productivity improvements (in area of expertise) and provides necessary oversight through implementation
Sets technical standards, policies, and procedures in area of expertise
Coordinate revisions and improvements going forward
Supports the Manager for development and maintenance of outside supplier relationships, as assigned
Explains UOP's philosophy regarding equipment issues to internal and external customers
Represents area of expertise on UOP equipment teams, as assigned
Provides feedback on the performance of others (when requested) as input into the annual performance review process
Supports recruiting efforts, as and when requested
Accomplishes agreed to Expectations and Goals specific to area of expertise
Inspection and testing of piping skids/ modules during fabrication/ construction for conformance with project equipment requirements and applicable codes.
Providing inputs to procurement process consisting of preparation of material/ purchase requisitions (for bids, for ordering, for costing exercises, design specific QA/ QC requirements etc); conducting evaluation of vendor bids including liquidating of TQ’s etc; conducting review of vendor engineering deliverables (like data sheets, drawings etc).
Meet expectations for delivering sales support and on-site technical services to customers for existing units etc.
Responsible for preparing/ reviewing and/ or approving following documents either created by in-house engineering team or by a team from third party agencies:
P&IDs/MFDs Review & Mark up
3D Model Database
Participate in 3D Model Reviews at different stages
Free Issue Material vendor drawings review
Piping isometric drawings along with the Bill of Material consistent with piping layout.
Review of support standard
Should have knowledge of 3D Model Review software e.g., Navisworks or some other similar software.
Responsible for reviewing the work of others in the group for technical accuracy and compliance with established guidelines and procedures and be the approver for all piping related deliverables.
Ensure to meet customer satisfaction requirements, including UOP Quality standards and UOP technical standards.
Actively participate to ensure that ISO 9001 certification is maintained.
Insure to provide input and participates in vendor evaluation reviews, project close-out reports and subsequent meetings. Act on applicable specialist group-related RCA’s (root cause analysis) for CAPA’s (corrective & preventive actions) that come out of these reviews.
Follow-up on items and lessons learned for applicable specialisation as captured thro’ RCA’s for a CAPA, field reports, establish root cause and implement corrective actions.
Manage and address cross departmental issues, including specialist engineering issues related to Equipment integration with other UOP technologies and with other UOP Equipment Offices (International Alignment).
Provides deliverables within budgeted cost and schedule at a high level of quality
Communicates with project manager on a regular basis regarding progress, changes & schedule.
Support and follow corporate HS&E policies, in relation to Office & Field Safety practices and engineering design policies.


YOU MUST HAVE

Unique Department Competencies:
Relevant 8+ years of experience in detailed engineering for Mechanical / Piping Material discipline for the petroleum refining & petrochemical industry.
Candidate shall have an excellent knowledge of Principles, Practices and Procedures related to piping engineering.
Excellent knowledge of B31.3 Piping Code, ASTM, PIP & other industrial codes.
Expertise in PMS, VMS, Pipe supports, RFQs, VDR etc.
Candidate shall have knowledge of 3D Model Reviews.
Review of piping isometric drawings along with the Bill of Material consistent with piping layout.
Experience of Pipe Support Selection, design and analyzing piping systems.
Experience/ Knowledge of inter-disciplinary linkages & interdependencies.
Understanding of Equipment Design and Fabrication techniques, standards and tools.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to be used at the international level with colleagues worldwide.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical.
Master’s Degree may be an asset.
Able to communicate effectively in English.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Good analytical skills and sound judgment.
Highly motivated, Independent and Team player
Negotiation skills and business acumen are an advantage
