Job Description

The MDM Vendor Master Analyst at NIQ enhances our Master Data team in Global Finance Operations. This role is pivotal in managing and maintaining the integrity of vendor master data within our financial systems. As a Vendor Master Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of vendor information, facilitating smooth and efficient financial and procurement processes. This position demands a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to support the organization's financial operations and strategic objectives.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Vendor Master Data Management: Oversee the maintenance and integrity of vendor master data in financial systems, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Manage and maintain the vendor master data within the financial systems, ensuring all vendor information is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Data Verification and Validation: Conduct thorough reviews and validation of vendor information, including contact details, payment terms, and banking information, to prevent errors and ensure compliance with financial and tax regulations. Perform data analysis and validation to identify and resolve any discrepancies or inconsistencies in vendor data.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of vendor data management practices. Support the creation, modification, and retirement of vendor records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, accounts payable, and other finance teams to resolve any discrepancies and support seamless financial operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with vendor onboarding and due diligence processes.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations related to vendor management. Prepare and analyze reports on vendor data metrics for management review. Monitor and analyze vendor data quality, identifying and resolving data issues and inconsistencies.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to finance and procurement teams on vendor master data processes and best practices. Provide guidance and support to end-users on vendor master data-related matters, including training and troubleshooting.
  • Project Participation: Participate in finance projects, including system upgrades and implementations, impacting vendor master data.
  • Customer data and COA Management – Should be well versed with Customer, GL and Cost Center management as well and support the team as and when required.
  • Audit Support: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to vendor master data.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in vendor master data management, accounts payable, or a related finance role.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing large sets of data.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies in data.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Process Improvement Mindset: Demonstrated experience in identifying and implementing process improvements in data management or financial processes.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in financial systems and ERP software, particularly in modules related to vendor management. Advanced Excel skills are highly desirable.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments to achieve business objectives.
