Your role:
- Utilizing Siemens NX to create detailed 3D models of automotive components, specifically focusing on cameras and radar systems, guiding these designs from initial concept through to mass production readiness.
- Generating comprehensive 2D technical drawings that accurately represent the 3D models, including all necessary details for suppliers and manufacturing. This includes the application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and conducting thorough tolerance analysis to ensure design specifications are met.
- Performing a clearance study for PCB components with housing part.
- Creating Assembly drawings for manufacturing plant.
- Performing detailed analyses of the fields of view (FOV) for cameras and radars, ensuring optimal coverage and functionality within the intended design parameters and vehicle integration.
- Engaging in regular communication and collaboration with OEMs and various internal teams, including Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD), and Manufacturing (MFG) departments. This collaboration ensures that design intentions align with production capabilities and customer requirements, leading to successful product development and implementation.
Your background:
- Minimum of 3-8 years of hands-on experience using Siemens NX.
- Degree Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- Experience in designing plastic, Sheetmetal and die-cast parts, with a deep understanding of the materials and manufacturing processes involved.
- Advanced knowledge and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles in creating and interpreting technical drawings.
- Good command of spoken and written English, essential for effective communication within the team and with external partners.
- Honesty in work, familiarity with Teamcenter for product lifecycle management, which is advantageous for managing complex data and processes associated with automotive product development.
- Experience in surface modeling & User Defined Features (UDF) creation in Siemens NX.
- Knowledge of DFA & DFM.
- Knowledge of Catia V5 including OEMs environments.
- Understanding of stack-up analysis techniques, useful for assessing the cumulative effect of part tolerances on overall assembly quality and performance.
- Experience in the automotive industry, providing valuable insight into industry-specific standards, practices, and challenges. This experience is beneficial for understanding OEM requirements and ensuring compliance with automotive regulations.
