As part of this commitment, there is a need for a Governance and Program Management Lead in Global Billing Operations (GBO). This role will report to the Deputy Head of Global Billing and will be responsible for overseeing billing governance which includes reporting and metrics as well as compliance, audit and risk management. In addition to governance activities, this role will be responsible for managing the transformation program designed to enhance technology and streamline processes.
Why this role is important to us
GBO is responsible for all of State Street’s client billing processes across the globe. The remit spans across Investment Servicing, Global Markets, and Global Advisors covering over 25+ billing processes. The Governance and Program Management Lead will play a key role in supporting technology releases, triaging production issues, implementing a formal billing training program and maintaining oversight of governance activities.
What you will be responsible for
Individual will be responsible for working with IT to triage all production issues (root cause, ensuring agreed workarounds are documented and moved to backlog)
Technology Release Management (includes managing backlog items across the ORMB ecosystem)
Support product owners to plan and execute UAT for technology releases (including communication of release scope, documentation, and training)
Track and report committed target state (ORMB) conversions
Implement automated testing (TOSCA)
Create and implement formal Global Billing Training material
Responsible for Oversight committee materials including maintain minutes and action items
Program Management Support
Oversee the management of internal and external audit control, compliance, risk management, procedural documentation and business continuity for the department
Liaise with internal and external Audit teams, driving management of audit review cycles and reporting of remediation requirements/findings for GBO
Oversee Issues & Incidents reporting and escalations; providing transparency into remediation / resolution efforts and any barriers that may arise
Provide Metrics & Reporting updates at the senior leadership level, including but not limited to, Unbilled & Billed AR Monthly Reporting, KPIs, Revenue by Billing Process, etc.
Network and collaborate with Global Delivery Billing Risk partners to drive risk resolution at the top of the house
Ensure compliance requirement oversight is performed and reported to senior leadership (e.g. EUDT, Records Management, Required Absences from Sensitive Leave, etc.)
Develop a deep understanding of the end-to-end billing process and capabilities, driving process improvements forward

Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s/master’s degree in accounting, Chartered Accountant (CA), 17+ years of progressive experience in billing or accounting areas with major financial institutions in a global setting
17+ years management or supervisory experience
Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to interact with senior levels
Exhibits an exceptional standard of quality which includes attention to detail, organization, superior analysis and problem-solving as well as accountability for excellent results
Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity, change and a dynamic business environment
Experience in working in a global environment
