The function of this role is ensure the business impacts of critical and complex outages in area of IP/MPLS backbone, Internet networks and critical enterprise services are minimized by identifying root cause and resolving issues in time, round the clock. He/she would be accountable to minimize the impact of the network changes, reduction in human errors by driving change process effectively. As part of network transformation program execution, role demands to work towards identifying operation automation opportunities, collaborate with development team for required deployment, testing and achieving expected benefits. As part of this role, he/should would be required to work with multiple teams locally and geographical spread, demonstrate required agility in order to resolve or reduce number of issues/incidents effectively by exploring multiple feasible options.
This role has potential to grow as leading the second line team and also has an opportunity to work in multiple other areas of network operations including unified communication, IP security/DDOS, Mobile roaming and voice operations. As this function requires prompt and effective actions on high impacting outages, the role has high visibility in senior leadership teams
Key Objectives :
• Operation and maintenance of the IP network devices and connectivity to local market
CISCO 9k, 12k, ASR, routers ,Juniper-MX960,Alcatel -7750,Other connected IP network elements
• Continuous 24X7 hours support of IP Core Network
• Handling Network complaints- Incident management.
• HW and SW Fault analysis and resolution, service continuity assurance, disaster recovery, RMA
• Raise problem management tickets
• Should have Hands on HW troubleshooting at least on 1 of the vendor (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel)
• Must have routing and switching experience
• Should be able to Identify Single point of failure and root causes of isolations.
• Preventive maintenance - Prepare downtime and outage notifications and reports
• Capacity monitoring and reporting
• Documentation of IP network
• SLA management
• Python Scripting Knowledge would be added advantage.
