Job Description

Role Overview:


The Workstation Vulnerability Remediation Manager oversees daily operational support for the primary remediation team. This role prioritizes incoming work, leads a team of System Engineers, ensures the successful rollout of security patches, achieves 100% compliance, and drives the implementation of roadmap items through automation. Responsibilities include managing updates for Windows and Mac OS, software packages, and security patches.


Essential Functions:


  • Possess extensive hands-on experience with endpoint vulnerability remediation, demonstrating expertise in assessing vulnerabilities and identifying weaknesses across multiple operating systems and applications.
  • Expertly communicate at executive leadership levels, adeptly translating technical gaps into comprehensible business risks.
  • Deliver reports on gaps in a meaningful way that addresses business risks and provide actionable technical solutions to operations teams for effective remediation.
  • Define and spearhead the implementation of roadmaps for significant process improvements in patching, reporting, and overall patch deployment methodologies.
  • Proactively identify gaps and drive continuous improvements through advanced automation and generative AI efforts.
  • Lead and manage a diverse team of highly skilled systems engineers; focus on attracting, nurturing, and retaining talent while fostering a culture of accountability, quality, innovation, and inclusivity.
  • Excel in environments that demand a high degree of cross-functional collaboration to address and solve complex challenges.
  • Oversee, triage, and drive the resolution of operations escalations, with a predictive approach to reduce future escalations.
  • Emphasize innovation and collaboration with global operations partners to minimize redundant work and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies, including automation and generative AI, to ensure the team stays ahead in vulnerability management.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, encouraging team members to pursue professional development opportunities.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to ensure the team is well-versed in the latest security protocols, automation techniques, and AI advancements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to align vulnerability remediation efforts with broader organizational goals.
  • Lead strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the organization's overall security posture and resilience against cyber threats through innovative use of automation and generative AI.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications


  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.


Preferred Qualifications


  • 7 - 10 years' experience performing architecture, engineering, and operations tasks in a medium to large enterprise.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Windows and Mac OS.
  • Technical hands-on packaging skills in multiple technology stacks like Bigfix, SCCM, and JAMF.
  • Solid technology background in Compute and Deploy/Release.
  • Understanding of workstation deployment and configuration technologies, with experience implementing in a highly secure environment being a plus.
  • Hands-on experience developing and automating solutions for Mac and/or Windows platforms.
  • Experience using vulnerability assessment tools like Qualys, Fortify, Appscan, or other assessment tools.
  • Expertise in PowerShell or other scripting languages.
  • 2 years' experience managing a globally diverse engineering team.
  • Effective management and collaboration with geographically distributed teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Proven leadership in people management, mentoring, and career growth of engineers; creating leads across teams and empowering the team by consistently raising the bar.
  • Technical proficiency and hands-on experience in testing and deploying current Windows and Mac Operating systems, security patches, and security tools.
  • Proven track record of engineering excellence and improving organizational efficiency.
