Job Description
Key responsibilities
1. Operations Management:
- Supervise daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods.
- Coordinate and monitor the order fulfillment process to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Ensure optimal utilization of warehouse space and resources.
2. Inventory Control:
- Oversee inventory management processes, including stock audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Implement procedures to minimize stock discrepancies and damages.
3. Team Leadership:
- Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff, including shift supervisors, data entry operators, and other team members.
- Develop training programs and performance improvement plans for staff.
- Ensure that all staff are aware of and comply with warehouse policies and safety procedures.
4. Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for warehouse staff.
- Implement and maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
5. Process Improvement:
- Analyze existing processes and implement improvements to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Conduct time studies, including pallet put away, to identify efficiency opportunities.
- Implement lean management principles to optimize warehouse operations.
6. Client and Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients and stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
- Manage client inventory and coordinate with the operations team to handle special projects,
7. Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present operational reports, including inventory status, safety audits, and performance metrics.
- Use data analysis to forecast future inventory needs and make recommendations for process changes.
- Ensure that data is accurately captured and reported in all management information systems (MIS).
8. Technology Utilization:
- Oversee the effective use of warehouse management systems (JD system, WMS, etc.) to streamline operations.
- Train staff on the use of new technologies and systems to improve warehouse efficiency.
9. Strategic Planning:
- Assist in planning and executing the new Projects
- Develop strategies for handling increased warehouse volume and ensure sufficient staffing levels.
- QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Qualification & Competencies
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
- 8-10 years of experience in warehouse operations,
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management software (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in warehouse management or supply chain management.
- Experience in a high-volume, multi-client warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with lean management principles and process improvement initiatives.
